Me and my other half know we love each already, and we don't need choccies/flowers/gifts to show it to one-another. I might express my love later, though. ;)

Tesco?

I saw them last night and hissed at the fact that I paid basically 10 times that amount on effectively the same thing. Turns out they are actually far and away superiour to anything I've seen before, proper quality roses if I've ever seen them, well worth the price.

I got chocolates in bed this morning :D Yeah I know it sounds pretty darn girly but I love chocolate so much :o

I love Valentine's Day :p

I think only you see me that way. I am just taking full advantage of an oppurtunity as i do every single day of my life.

Me and the wife are going out for a meal tomorrow night (Friday) - not necessarily for Valentines night but it serves as a nice reminder to do something nice and romantic together.

Other than the meal, we've bought each other a cute card and spent <£5 on some romantic trinkets.

Job done.

Yeah they were from there, but I absolutely HATE spending ludicrous amounts of money on something which a)dies really quickly, and b)can be bought for a lot cheaper on other days.

However, roses are generally a good call for Valentines Day, so they have to be purchased. I also bought her a card, and a chocolate thing from M+S, AND taking her out for dinner at ASK, so I'm not such a skinflint :p

I don't remember anyone telling me I simply MUST celebrate valentines day. Its what you make it. Sure, you are a fool if you feel the need to spend an excessive amount of money of gifts to please your loved ones. On the other hand, why not have a day to spend time with someone you love? I know a friend who is taking her GF to have a candle lit fish and chips from the takeaway, in mock celebration of the day.

Of course valentines day is a commercial event. You would have to be a fool not to take it with a giant pinch of salt, as I would guess the majority of the population does. Its no different than a modern day Christmas; there is no reason that you can not remove yourself from the bad things associated with the day and concentrate on things which may matter. Be that family or other loved ones.

So I would say to any that loathe valentines day to stop being so cynical and enjoy the day for what it is, a highly tongue in cheek day that we are suppose to spend time with out loved ones for no other reasons than we simply 'should'.

Well, thats fine by me.
