Webber to leave F1 for return to Le Mans with Porsche

Will be sad to see Mark go, really great guy and amazing talent. Best of Luck to him with Porsche.

As for who will take his seat, I have a feeling either JEV or PDR. We shall see though.

Kind of feel bad for Lewis. He wanted the Redbull seat didn't he but Webber stayed for another year. So counting him out I really hope Kimi gets this seat.

Although its F1 and I wouldn't count the people like Bottas and Riccardo out.

I don't think RB would have ever entertained the idea of Lewis and Vettel in the same team.

Lewis only had a chance of going to Red Bull if Vettel signed witj Ferrari as was being rumoured ages ago.

I'll be surprised to see Kimi take the seat, he'd challenge for sure, if not beat Vettel in an equal car. I think Kimi is the better driver of the two.

Very sad to see Webber go. Seemed like one of the more decent guys on the grid.

I reckon Vergne is in with a good shout. I reckon Helmet stick-your-oar-in Marko will start flapping over what the point in having a feeder-driver team is otherwise.

I'd love to see Kimi put the cat amongst the pigeons though.

I think this whole charade will contribute to Vettel-hate though. A lot of people are going to see this as a consequence (if only partly) of the team orders incident.

Can't say I am surprised at the news though I am still sad he'll be gone next year, have some great memories of Mark over his F1 career (starting to feel old now I have watched a few racers whole career in F1).

RB are going to look very silly if they can't really get another good driver through the young driver programme into that seat, would be such a waste of money to run. (that said Kimi would be hilarious there for a year or two)

Oh, please be Kimi. I really want to see him kick Vettel's butt. :D

Plus, can you just imagine if he did... The more Vettel beats Kimi the more vettel would get annoyed and Kimi would just continue to be his laid back self :)

Shame that Webber is leaving however. I always liked him if I'm honest. Will be cool to see him in Le Mans though.

We all knew it was on the cards for a while, and I never really saw Webber with any other team right now/next season.

Kimi at RBR would be awesome, no doubt he would be top dog then with that car. I kind of like the romantic view of Kimi staying at Lotus and them pulling it out the bag for a 2nd place in the championship though.

Two big drivers like that at RBR, well they do have Webber & Vettel already and they are both top drivers, but I'd go with the Hulk if I had the choice :D

Surely if RB feel that neither TR driver is ready for the step up, then they're in their rights to look elsewhere on the grid.

I'm not sure Kimi would beat Vettel in a place he doesn't feel comfortable. After all he never really settled at Ferrari and was made to look like an out of sorts journeyman by a chimp. Even in the year he won the title he was barely above average for half the races.

It's great that he's back on it but he's in a place he's comfortable. I don't think it would comfortable at Red Bull. 5 seconds after he signed a deal they would start protecting Vettel and unsettle him like they did webber.

Still it will probably happen. Kimi to play second fiddle at Red Bull and Button at Ferrari.

Both Kimi and Alonso struggled (if you can call it that, both did well) adapting to the change from Michelin tyres to Bridgestone. The tyres were massively different.

Kimi and Vettel are good friends. If they were in the same team I wouldn't expect any fireworks at all.

I wouldn't mind Hulk getting the nod, or maybe Di Resta if he promises not to cry every race.

Yeah, Brundle is always mentioning how good friends they are.

Still, i would literally make a mess in my pants if Red Bull announce Kimi as one of there drivers for next year.
