Weekend football - 1st-3rd November **Spoilers**

Not true at all (from Utd's point of view) - completely correct about Chelsea though

We only just escaped today, and last weekend we were as dreadful in the 2nd half against Everton as you seemingly where today against spurs

actually thats a disrespect to Liverpool in a way as you still had plenty of chances in the 2nd half, which Utd really didnt - most of ours last week came in the 1st half

Read my last post, United and Chelsea both have more quality, swap them with us today and you would have won.

The "we need Torres back" excuses don't wash with me, we beat the 2 best teams in the league without him so I'd expect us to beat a struggling spurs without him too.

Don't know what it was with Keane today, whether it was the boos from the idiot crowd that got to him I dont know, but he never looked like he wanted to shoot at all today.
Agree. He's just lacking in confidence but he's already got 4 assists and 2 goals to his name so I'm expecting a whole lot more from him when he does hit top form.

Can't doubt his workrate but we don't pay 20m for someone to run around all game, he needs to get a few goals under his belt and then I think they will come flooding in.

Just as you would have probably won against Everton last week - there is no difference really

Utd scraped through today, giving away at least two cheap goals (no disrespect meant to Hull, but our defence should be a lot better) and probably should have scored several more also at the other end

One thing that will drive me mad now is the Redknapp love in I'll have to endure everywhere now. The loss was our own fault, not his through his genius what so ever. We failed to take our chances and gave them a goal to help them along.

No doubt he's a good manager but he doesn't deserve all the praise yet. Plus he's a bent **** and an eyesore to look at!

Would just like to re-iterate my point!

Stoke arent as bad a side as certain pundits make out. Ive been to see them all season and they aint been turned over. The Brit is a very tough place to go and arsenal had no width. They lost the 50-50s and needed a ballwinner.

No doubt it will be about arsenal being poor like it was about spurs being poor when they came to the Brit! Stoke will stay up deservedly this season.

Just a shame Rory wasnt playing against chelsea otherwise it might have been a different result!

Cant agree more with you there mate, i've been to most games this season and apart from the man city result we've never let ourselves down. 4 wins out of 6 at the Brit is fantastic, and im over the moon about our league position considering out of our games so far this season we've had to play Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, Villa and Everton.

Folks like Weebull can refer to us as one trick pony's, but who wouldnt use a weapon like that if they had it in their squad. There's more to stoke that just Delap's throws, but if thats all that folks want to focus on about us I'm more than happy :)

Regardless of all that, we showed our weaknesses today and why we won't be in it come May.

I look at it this way, if Liverpool won the league it would be seen as a massive over achievement. If Man Utd/Chelsea won it, it wouldn't.

I love the fact that everyone writes-off liverpool after suffering our first defeat of the season!! Remember, we didn't get played off the park and really deserved to win the game by a fair margin, unfortunately it just wasn't our day - but I cant see there being many more days like that.

hmm I see where you are coming from - but part of that is because you havent even come close to winning it for 18 years

Probably, but in Rafa's defence Keane's still not fully fit and was visibly looking tired.

Ah yes Keane was suffering a slight thigh strain early in the week iirc?

I listened to the match, and from the sounds of it the score probably should have been 0-4. Could this be the beginning of the annual Liverpool Winter blues, hope not as it’s great to see them well in touch at the top, and not playing catch up from the off...

I watched the whole game mate, and some of the players put in very good performances, passing and movement was great, but we just lacked the final touch to put the ball in the back of the net. Just feel like we took the game in our stride a bit too much, maybe over confidence is starting to set in, and we should've really worked harder to get the game killed off!

Why won't we? We look much better this season and have already taken four more points from the two games we've played against United and Chelsea than we did from all four last season.

Because we don't have the depth and quality they both have. We might have beaten them both already, but in a league that doesn't make us better than them.

And what's the other part?

Well I've just got back from Portsmouth Wigan. A mate of mine got us VIP tickets so it was a fun day out - got to meet David James after the match and won £30 betting on Zaki to score first!

Shame Wigan got the 3 points though, infact not many of the results went Newcastle's way today - we really need at least 1 point from Villa on Monday but I know it's not going to be easy...
