Ill slap on FIFA later and investigate our chances ;)...

Dno if I can remove that many 1st team Arsenal players without it taking ages :p

P.S. Real shame regards Fab - one of my fav players...

Lucas was terrible. He ran around, gave away about 4 free kicks from attempted headers and seemed to watch the player everytime the ball was coming near. Thats on top of making about 2% worth of forward passes.
Riera shouldn't have come off, Lucas was doing more harm than good to the team. Surprised he wasnt booked much earlier.
The sending off was a sending off, it was 2 yellow cards and I can't see why people are complaining. They were both yellow cards for the same thing plus a flailing arm to the face.

Its amazing how much liverpool fans slate their players. Give the guys a break; lucas is still a young lad, give the guy time, ffs its no wonder the guy has no confidence hes always getting slated. I thought he had an ok game today; yes he gave a lot of free kicks but he was getting stuck in and did contribute going forward, he even made a good few runs into the box and also had a shot saved by almunia. And all the kuyt bashing? come on! we wouldnt be top if he didnt do all the running he does, plus he has come up with some good goals this season. im glad this guys runs around continuously and think he has probably been our best player with alonso so far this season.

Remember none of the liverpool team have been in this position before; if we are within a few points of the top come march, which is very likely considering everybody is dropping points, then we are in with a chance. We will hopefully have torres and keano firing on all cylinders by then. liverpool still have as good as chance as united and chelsea right now so get behind the lads fellow reds!!

And too many bitter arsenal supporters here. If ade didnt go over the ball he wouldnt have been booked. he got booked the first time and didnt learn so it was no surprise he got the second yellow. shame about cesc hope he makes a quick recovery.

A lot of the stick Lucas gets is more out of frustration at others being left out rather than his performance. Like you say he done ok today but a lot of people (myself included) wanted to see us switch to a 4-4-2 when Adebayor got sent off and therefore wanted Lucas to come off for Babel.

Regarding Lucas in general. He showed a lot of promise in his early cameo performances last season but he's too lightweight to play as a single holding player in the EPL and like Pigeon says, he offers very little end product when he plays further forward.

Don't tar everyone with the same brush.

Lucas - I said he did well, had a fantastic first half.

Kuyt - You are wrong, without him we'd still be top, and probably by more points. With a proper RW our team would be far more balanced.

Kuyt is just far too inconsistent with his passing and touch and I'm fed up of seeing it. I'm not one to have a go at players, I'm all for giving them a chance to prove themselves, but Kuyt is just not good enough to be in the Liverpool first team. You couldn't count on both hands how many times he gives possession away in your average game.

Not a chance. The last few weeks he's been poor but so have the majority of our players. Prior to that he was up there with our best performers this season and scoring frequently.

A proper RW would give far more to the team than he does.

People say without his goals we wouldn't be where we are, what's to say a better player wouldn't have scored the same or more? What's to say that player wouldn't have helped to create just as many as he has too? His goals have all jammy and hardly works of genius.

Every time he gets the ball I cringe, you just know 75% of the time he's going to do something crap with it.

He's a squad player not a starter. I want a proper RW who is far more productive.

LOL you lot can't be serious? No-one gives a flying toss about this competition, it's totally meaningless.

I'd have much rather had the Uefa Super Cup beating Zenit than some money spinning 2 bit competition is Asia.

Jesus Christ

I agree it's hardly an important competition but to say it's less meaningless than the Super Cup just blatantly shows you're one of these bitter anti Man Utd idiots

Pathetic

Totally agree-think it's a real shame that we aren't getting behind Lucas, considering how highly Rafa rates him, not to mention the fact that he captained Brazil's under 20s, and we should really give him a chance. I think that the main issue is that nobody has really worked out his best position.

As for Kuyt, he's been good this season; his technique is too poor to ever be great, but he's had a very good season for the most part. Ideally we could get a world class right winger in and have Kuyt as a 4th striker along with Torres, Keane and Ngog, but he's by no means doing a bad job on the right.

Finally, it wasn't a red card; ridiculous decision (and yes, I am a Liverpool fan :)). All Adebayor was doing was trying to get himself between Arbeloa and the ball, and he skimmed his shin.

Your post is so far wide of the mark I debating whether it's actually worth responding.

Clueless, absolutely clueless. Obviously nothing changes.

In an ideal world maybe he shouldn't be starting but unless you can say for certain that if we signed....we'd be x amount of points clear then his goals and perfomances have contributed hugely to us being top of the league and even if you could that's not to say that he hasn't been one our best performers this season, as he has.

I thought you were too big to resort to insults? Or are you a hypocrite as well as a troll?

Why does that matter? As i mentioned earlier, regardless of his intentions the challenge was potential a dangerous one and more than worthy of a booking. Everybody was up in arms at Arca not getting sent off yesterday and that's all that he was doing too. Had Adebayor made any serious contact with Arbeloa then i doubt too many people would have had any complaints with him getting a straight red.
