Weekend Football 21/22 & 23rd ***SPOILERS***

Chelsea were awesome in the 1st half today, not many teams go to Villa Park and outperform the hosts like that, cracking goal too.
2nd half we reverted back to clueless Chelsea a bit and a lot of that was down to the way Villa played but I guess you're not going to dominate all game against them nowadays.
Anelka got MOTM for some reason, it should've gone to Lampard as he was outstanding.
A double over Villa never comes easy and they could possibly cite the fact that on both occasions when we met this season Chelsea had a point to prove and were able to do it, don't care though, onwards & upwards.;)

3 weeks ago I had fears of us not even getting 4th place such was the dire, ineffective, predictable football we were delivering, now I'm very confident we will thanks to the kick up the arse the sacking of Scolari has provided and Arsenal's poor form of course;)

Fair play to Chelsea, they did a professional job on us - felt we looked a little big leggy, without using that as an excuse, but can't really complain that we are locking horns with a reason with teams like that, at the time of the season.

Thankfully Arsene's bottlers, however bubbling with "potential", keep slipping up when they aren't expected to - shame we don't have to play them again this season to cement our place in the top 4.

Nice to see none-biased refereeing at OT once more. No doubt the FA will bottle it and do nothing about Ronaldo's kick for the third time this season.

Obviously Pederson has some kind of condition where his legs collapse if you touch him on the shoulder. Maybe Rafael found a pressure point :D

Obviously United put in a performance of champions tonight ;), and obviously Ronaldo & Rafael are examples of model professionals.

I'm not even going to bother arguing the case for Blackburn but what's the point in even turning up to Old Trafford these days.

Yes I'm sure an ongoing record for keeping clean sheets was surely very distracting for a team that is busy concentrating on not losing games. :p

I think my point was proven with how Utd didnt really react well after the goal went in, and how their play was a lot more stilted - if that had been against Inter or a better playing team Utd could easily have lost the game

The holders are already without injured duo Gary Neville and Wes Brown, and the suspended Nemanja Vidic for the match.

"It is a nightmare - somewhere I have to find two centre-backs," said a concerned United boss Alex Ferguson.

Dont know why we have to find TWO centre backs, as Rio can still play..... but looks like GN, WB and Vidic are all ruled out already for Tuesday night and possibly OShea too

Pederson should have had a penalty. When you are running at that pace ANY contact is going put you off balance. Now he might well have overdid the dive, ok I am sure he did, but it was either dive or take a shot off balance and blast it 30 yards wide. The way Mike Phelan danced around the question said it all.

I personally think Hiddink was a mistake.

He's not contracted to the club, and is only there to steady the ship as a favor for a friend.

Chelsea need to give a contract to a manager, ( who can use the remaining time to start building for next season ) They need to get a manager who has the confidence to take on the likes of Terry / Drogba ect ect...

What else could have they done? There was no obvious candidates who could have taken over now and although managers should be given time, Scolari was seemingly taking Chelsea backwards. What was looking like being a totally wasted season for Chelsea is now very much alive again. They may be out of the league but they're still in with a shout of winning the FA cup and CL which didn't look like being the case under Scolari.

Their season is back on and they have given themself the opportunity to get the right man in the summer when no doubt there will be more top managers available.

Now i know what it fealt like to not be a supporter of chelsea 3-4 years ago. united look to be in a different class this season.

well it's not over till the fat lady sings

but in terms of the league for Man Utd I can definately hear her warming up :D

True, and worryingly, I dont think we (Liverpool) are going to win tomorrow. I just have a strange feeling that we arent going to pick up the 3 points, and that will pretty much be it for the title race. Shame really, a short while ago it looked like it was going to be an exciting to-the-wire title race this year for a few teams, at least its still tight down the bottom for a bit of end of season excitement :)
