Weekend Football 21/22 & 23rd ***SPOILERS***

Does anyone have the list of players for our Champions League squad?

Sour grapes as usual from Arsene Wenger over their draw yesterday. The man has to be the worst loser in the Premiership.

Travelling squad
Goalkeepers: Van der Sar, Foster, Kuszczak.
Defenders: Ferdinand, Evra, O'Shea, Evans, Fabio, Eckersley.
Midfielders: Giggs, Park, Carrick, Nani, Scholes, Possebon, Gibson, Fletcher, Ronaldo.
Forwards: Rooney, Berbatov, Tevez, Welbeck.

I'd rather see Carrick at centre half before Eckersley, although going by the look of the travelling squad O'Shea and Evans will probably get late fitness tests so I doubt we'll know anything until tomorrow.

The game was a joke though to be fair :/ Sunderland didn't leave their half in the second half.

No, not really. Every manager including Ferguson, has expressed annoyance at opponents who park the team bus in front of the goal. Wenger has even done it when we've won ;).

He merely said that there was no point in over praising Sunderland's display because for the vast majority of the match, that is exactly what they did. And he's also right in saying that matches would be a boring if it was the only style of play.

I didnt suggest Eckersley for Centre Half :)

IF OShea and Evans arent fit (Im still not sure about the rumours that OShea is fit enough) and I very much doubt both of them will make it. At best OShea is at CH and Fletcher at RB, however if OShea isnt fit, then we could have a Carrick and Fletcher in the back four

i must be sour, i dont want villa to qualify, they have rode there luck all season, with maybe a few deserved victories, i would rather everton be up there and im a toon fan, least they do it with a small team, no overpaid players and there books are balanced.

i cant stand aston villa

Villa have worked hard and been very lucky with injuries, I think they'll get a CL place but they will go out extremely early.

hardly the best way to represent england :p

i can see chelsea improving and finishing 2nd, if liverpool keep slipping up they might be lucky to get 4th, i could see it finishing:

1) Man Utd
2) Chelsea
3) Villa
4) Liverpool / Arsenal /Everton

..
..
..

18) Stoke / Hull / Blackburn / Spurs :) / Portsmouth
19) Middlesbrough
20) WBA

Having said that it depends if villa keep on getting lucky, arshavin looked decent for the gunners too, and if they get walcott and a few others back, they may get 3rd spot

Rangers 3-1 Kilmarnock
Motherwell 1-1 Celtic

Ah back at top of the league and staying there :D

1. Rangers GD +37 Pts 57

2. Celtic GD +27 Pts 57

I would add Newcastle to that list, still not out of the woods and with no manager, it will start to show when things get harder.

Your next few games, Bolton away = tough, Man Utd home = v hard, Hull away = tough, Arsenal home = tough, Chelsea home = v hard.

nah, the toon will go next season. We gradually get worse each year having finished 3rd, 4th and 5th and regular top 7 finishes, we will scrape it this year as we have our injured players coming back. Will have to see what happens next year, but im not hoping for much.

Realistically anyone from about 8th place can be doomed, WBA and Boro are defo for the chop. Its anyone from about 8th who can still go.

Well it's been happening at Old Trafford for as long as I can remember, it's down to the team to break them down and score. Not blame the other team when you fail to score.

Ferguson has never walked up to an opposition manager and said:

Arsene Wenger told Sunderland boss Ricky Sbragia, 'You should come here and play football' after their goalless draw.

The Arsenal boss was less than complimentary towards the Black Cats manager after their third successive 0-0 draw.

"He said something like, 'You should come here and play football'," Sbragia said. "That's difficult to take from our point of view and it's unnecessary. It just takes the shine off us a little bit.

"If I go and play 4-4-2 against Arsenal, I'm really going to struggle. We tried to frustrate them, we had a little game plan, trying to get Kieran [Richardson] and Deano [Whitehead] up to Kenwyne [Jones], and I thought we did that. It's a wee bit disappointing when a manager doesn't say to you that, yes, you did put the work in.

"I can remember a few years ago Arsène Wenger made a comment on Match of the Day, after his team had beaten Blackburn [6-2 at home]. He said, 'Blackburn came here and played some great football.' That has always stuck in my mind.

"I don't want to come here and lie down, lose 5-0 and say, 'We played excellent football.' It would be fantastic if every*body played the same sort of fast, free-flowing football but, unfortunately, we are miles behind Arsenal."

it only takes a goal to open the game up, we should be good enough to roll through Sunderland whether they have 10 men behind the ball or not .....everyone is entitled to play how they like.

fact is we created barely anything in the 2nd half and when we did the finishing was absolutely woeful i can tell you.

this team is mostly dire w/out Cesc pulling the strings, i shudder to think what will happen should he leave in the summer .....which is extremely likely given our likely league position.

Welp, m'off to the match tonight. It's only taken five months to get to see my first live City game this season. No guesses who I'll be cheering for ;).

I don't think it's extremely likely, he can see the potential for next season and he's only 21, he's in no rush, however, if RvP and Ade etc. leave he may get fed up ..

Arsenal were supposed to be kicking on from last season, instead, even when Fabergas has been in the side, they have not been all that.

Keep thinking "next year" and you will fall into the same kind of rut as liverpool.

What is happening at Arsenal is simply not good enough and Wenger has to get his act together because believe it or not, he isnt immune to getting the boot, which is possible if you dont qualify for the champions league.
