****Weekend Football Fixtures - 10-11th January 09 SPOILERS****

I wasn't too happy to see Giggs play but he did very well.
However, he was helped by Chelsea - I can't remember seeing them play so baddly.
You usually get at least a bit of fight from them but not today.
"OShea is barely a stand in " I find that odd, he is pretty dependably at the back. Has nothing to offer going forward but does the defense fine. He is reliable.

Chelsea just played too narrow. They didn't get the full backs into the game as much. Was Boswinga injured? If not, dont know why he got took off.

By next saturday, Utd could be back at the top :D

They certainly could, though I have learned long ago that anything is possible in this football league. Its got an amazing knack of the unexpected happening, it would be just typical of the weirdness of football for Wigan to beat Man Utd on Wednesday.

As Liverpool dont play til Monday thats actually very true - Utd could be top for two days.....with a game in hand :D

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :)

The width OShea doesnt offer on that side is a huge miss - thats the whole point. Utd play 100 times better with Evra attacking down the left

I always wondered why Avram Grant was sacked, when he was clearly doing a good job there, but oh well. What goes around comes around eh. ;)

AREEE YOU CITY IN DISGUISE???? :D:D:D
I LOVE IT!!
Now is when we kick it up a notch and start showing who are the real champions of the world!!!

He did nothing all game pretty much and was hardly hacked. He'll say he was but he got the same treatment as everyone on the pitch.

Other than score one, get booked for what should have been penalty, score another from the corner that wasn't, play a key part in the second goal....

yeah right he did nothing

Well needed win, I can't remember the last time we scored that many against Chelsea. Onwards and upwards. Benitez has now piled on a hell of a lot of pressure on Liverpool to win their next few games after their result yesterday and the 'facts' he shared with the world on Friday. I was so happy to hear more 'facts' after the Stoke game too. Maybe he could do that every week. Rafa's weekly factsssscchhhh.

Giggs played a blinder, Evans is getting better with every match, look at the difference having Evra back made. I hope his injury isn't too bad. I think Mr Ferguson needs to badger some more referees later, two perfect goals disallowed at Old Trafford, that's not on....

No real surprises today really as anyone who's seen Chelsea play in the last 3 months or so will agree.
We've been rubbish at home as the lesser sides have come and shut up shop which we've no idea how to combat and the better sides have taken us on and beaten us and the only reason we've had a good away record is that we haven't played anyone decent 'til today and we got what was coming.
This Chelsea side won't win a thing as there's simply no genius in attack and the defence is now full of holes since Steve Clarke left.
There won't be any needed additions to the squad this window and I look forward to Kenyon's promise of a complete new direction in the Summer which will involve a major overhaul and hopefully the inclusion of some of the real eager talent we have in the reserves like Kakuta and the removal of the deadwood like Drogba, Ballack and Deco.

I'm pretty much a die hard Chelsea fan and i haven't seen a game as painful as that since England - Croatia.

Cech- Ok performance, could have got a better hand to Vidic's header
A.Cole- Strong performance, blocked a lot of Ronaldo's first half crosses and forced Ferguson to switch Ronaldo to the left
Terry-Played well but ducked out of the way so Rooney could tap it in? WTF
Bosingwa-Not at his best, but a pretty strong performance

Midfield is where it all went wrong, they were atrocious, the only OK player was Lamps who was passing the ball around nicely

Ballack- Did he do anything? Complete waste of space
Lampard- Played well but might as well have had 3 women playing with alongside him
Deco- Popping it around nicely with lampard but did nothing productive with the ball
J.Cole- Workrate was there, he did nothing
Mikel-Very poor

Drogba- Worst performance i've EVER seen from him. I genuinely believe i would have done a better job
Anelka- Wasn't really given a fair chance, didn't change the game....

Chelsea's team on Paper is the strongest in the league imo

When is saw the likes of Evans, Neville, Fletcher, Park and Giggs in the starting line up i laughed to myself...

Park was brilliant and should have got man of the match imo, evans also played well.

A sad day to be a Chelsea fan...

That result entirely justifys most of my rants against the players. Because that just shows you what they can do when they try. That is the most effort I have seen Giggs put in in five seasons. Even Berbatoss pulled his finger out and put it in.

Cant agree with you anymore. Even being a Utd fan, Drogba and co need to be shown the door. Send them off to Italy on a permanent loan.

As you say, they need some fresh talent to change the team.
