*** Weekend Football Spoilers 11/12th etc ***

I didn't know that ref's were allowed to guess at decisions if they didn't see them. Regardless of, if Alonso fouled the guy or not (which he didn't) the ref shouldnt give any decision because he wasn't even looking at the incident.
Hopefully Alonso's red gets taken away, doubt it though, more likely to get an extra game for not leaving the pitch.
Have to say we didn't really deserve anything from that game though.

I knew our performance would suffer when we lost Sissoko as he was a key player in midfield and like many games since and todays, our midfield just gets walked through so easily.

Deserved win. I'd have been very upset if we didn't as Pires wasn't offside and we would surely have scored and then straight after it could have been a free kick on Cesc.

Nice to see Hleb play well again and we are starting to look like the old Arsenal going forward again.

Very true, he's arguably been our best and most important player this season. He does all the defensive stuff of the likes of Makelele and Hamann but gets around the pitch as well.

Although i agree you were better and deserved to wit you can't really say that, im sure Arsenal have had some offside decisions go your way (garcia 1 in first half)

I was very impressed with Arsenal's counter attacking, it was fast, passing was good and created a few good goal scoring opportunities. Gerrard very unlucky to allow Henry his second goal, but it sums up Liverpool's game. Why doesn't Benitez start with Fowler and give him a proper run in the team to see what he's capable of? Can't be any worse than Crouch up front.

Well done arsenal :D 2 great results today for Utd :D

Was it a good game? I still cant get sky working again :(
Arsenal battered us tbh, really good performance from the ref  (he has eyes in the back of his head) sent Alonso off for falling over even when he was looking the other way. Big mistake from Gerrards for Henry's winner, played a back pass and didn't see Henry lurking behind Bergkamp.

Because fowler is fat, lazy and past it.
He was brought in to the side in sheer desperation to get a goal from somewhere.
Its turned out he is just as useless now as Morientes and Crouch.

What a great match, Arsenal fully deserved to win. They created the most chances and could be easily 4-1, not mentioning some breathtaking plays.

Aye the linesmen were very harsh today. Garcia was onside in the first half, and we had 3 or 4 that looked alright to me.

Deserved result at the end of the day, but a bit of an undeserved second card for Alonso. Liverpool were pretty poor for most of the match though, the best they played was the last 10 mins, when they were chasing and ten men down. If they'd come out of the blocks trying like that they could have properly punished us for not taking our chances, but they just sat back for so much of the game. Gerrard must be gutted, he was one of 'Pool's best players til he messed up.

Thank god we won though. There have been too many "must win" games that we've let slip by us this season, and we needed this win to put the pressure on Spurs. Looking at the remaining fixtures I think we've got the best out of everyone in contention for that fourth spot now. :)

I think were finally getting our confidence back, just hope we start performing away from home. We played some real nice football today and Cesc is getting better and better every week!

Didnt get to see the 2 games today but they were good results for us :D

Will have to watch MOTD 2 tonight to see what really happened.

I guess that Alonso got a harsh sending off for a 2nd bookable offence. I hate it when players fall to the ground to get people booked. Who did he foul?

Flamini didnt purposely go down he got took down, just unforunate for Alonso that he slipped not a nasty player at all! Ref should have had a word with his linesman !
