Weekend Football **SPOILERS** 14-16 March

Torres got gifted the ball and finished a 1 on 1 well, which a large portion of strikers would have finished, he did nothing the other 89 minutes except a few fouls and a few dives, he didn't have other chances, didn't create, didn't win the ball, he didn't do much of anything.

If you're going to say silly things like that then there's no point getting into a discussion over football with you as we will never agree on anything, just my point of view anyway :)

Don't like losing, and really don't like losing to Liverpool.

Bad day at the office, Manchester United didn't turn up, didn't play well at all. Liverpool were much the better side, looked much more comfortable and took full advantage of the lack of form United showed, as they did against Real Madrid.

Torres was very good upfront, really rattled Vidic and Rio.

Loved how Andy Gray said Rafa had his team selection wrong, and never said a bad word about Fergie.
Come the end of the game, Andy Gray was saying how Rafa got the squad right ! :D Andy Gray talks utter ****.

Well done Liverpool.

like i asked before, what else did he do in the game? seriously, what other chance did he create, or chance he took/missed. I'm not 100% sure but not convinced he had another shot on goal at all tbh.

Don't worry tsinc, your view is shared with most other's in SA. Fortunately he writes so much that i can never (well extremely rarely) be bothered reading it so i don't even need to put him on ignore.

Torres chased every ball down, pulled Rio and Vidic out of position not to mention the quick turns he managed to pull off, I remember one where O'shea got back just in time and this was the set up for the rest of the Game.

Torres was very good upfront, working hard to the team and allowing Liverpool to counter attack / get a rest when the pressure was on.

cheers all. this is not shaping up to be one of the better ones though! my company closed it's birmingham office a week ago so i've been applying for supermarket jobs to tide me over. passed an interview at tescos for shelf stacker extraordinaire and they sprung the gem of the only induction being at 8am this morning for 4 hours. thinking i could still get to the pub for the match i agreed. at which point the induction ran over 2 bloody hours and i got to the pub just in time to see us concede the 3rd and 4th goals.

I'm going to get drunk.

You've got to hand it to Liverpool, two great wins against two top teams.

I watched the Liverpool game on Tuesday and was thoroughly impressed by them, and I thoroughly enjoyed the game, more than I have for a long while anyway.

Good stuff :)

How on earth is Diouf still allowed to be on a football pitch?

the question is after multiple nasty tackles, spitting at fans, at players, argueing with refs, and generally being one of the nastiest people in the sport for a long long time how is he allowed to play at all. I'd be very happy if the FA decided they simply wouldn't allow players like him to play in our leagues at all.

Also wasn't an Arshavin goal, one defender cleared hit the other one coming in and went in. very few chances against a poor team so far who could have scored. Yet again Wengers decided to play an odd team, not try and give RVP a chance to get scoring again, playing Theo on the wing where he looks fairly useless by and large.

we should win easily still, eventually but we aren't half making it hard again, against a poor team.

Happy birthday! Atleast you'll be ending the day as every birthday should be, drunk!

This thread stinks of manc tears :D

Nothing better.

Not really, if you'd have offered me 4 points clear, game in hand, 9 games to go, i'd have taken your hand off.

Liverpool, like City last season, have bragging rights for a week or so, until Rafa screws it up and drops points to Villa. :)

Trust me, nearly everyone i work with are man utd fans, and winning over liverpool is worth as much to them as a trophy.
Its not about us feeling good, its about making them feel bad ;)

Aye, I think the goal's slightly set them back a bit, but they're not being the usual Allerdyce side so far.*

Here's hoping an early second half goal to settle us. EDIT Walcott shoots well wide under slight pressure and Bender misses a tap in

Random question - was it Man UTD who interested in Paulo Di Canio a few years back?

*Arshavin's apparently required stiches. :/
