Weekend Football *Spoilers* inc Carling Cup Final 28/2 - 1/3

If we'd have bought him, there's no chance he'd be sold so soon. We did the right thing and I can't see Fergie keeping him next season unless its for a more reasonable price.

What difference would it have made

IINM dannyjo is saying that signing him on loan was financially, a safe way of taking a punt on him. Providing the figures over how much you've spent to have him on loan and the fee you'd have had to pay to sign him are about right then it would have worked out cheaper to sign him. Unless of course you simply didn't have the cash to do so after buying Hargreaves, Nani and Anderson.

As in, Fergie wouldn't have sold him so soon after paying so much for him. (akin to Keane/Liverpool, Fergie would have never done that). As it stands we can let Tevez go without any hassle.

I agree with danny, it looks like we've made the right decision just going for the loan. We'd have bought him by now if we were going to and I expect he'll leave in the summer unless his owners drastically lower their asking price.

If Tevez 'owners' want £20m for him there's no way Man.U. will pay that for someone who's in effect a good squad player for them, City will pay that and offer him regular football so if it's either buy or he leaves next season then I think he'll go.

I don't see how any other that makes a difference to what i think dannyjo was implying though. Both ways you'd have had him for 2 seasons and unless Tevez was a total flop you'd have lost less money by signing him. Not that its really important anyway :)

Anyway, Veron only lasted 2 seasons and he cost more so maybe Fergie would have sold him :p

today was the first time I can actually imagine Toon going down

Not happy, watched the 1st half at the pub, Nicky ******* Butt headbutting someone 5 times, infront on the ref!, absolutely mindless , words fail me

Play Man U and Imo whoever loses out of Hull V Toon will go down, if not both

It wasn't as straight forward as that though dannyjo. They've had to pay £10m to take him on loan. They could have signed him straight away for ~£25m and im sure they'd be able to get ~£20m back for him now, which would have worked out cheaper.

more recent reports are saying only £3m a season (which is also covered by reports of £25m payment outright for a total of £31 /£32m overall)

WE? Get a grip, you live in Staffordshire so support your local side you gloryhunting creep.

We'll see where all you stokies are when you get relegated, you small club supporters are just as bad as the rest of em, you turn up when the team comes up or has a good run, then they all **** off again to watch the big teams on TV, sad but true.
