Weekend Football *Spoilers* inc Carling Cup Final 28/2 - 1/3

Am I the only one who thought Lennon wasn't that good? I suppose out of Spurs players he was the best but then your front two were completely absent. Lennon's dribbling was nice but then his crosses weren't even crap, it was like he'd never crossed in his life. Made the dribbling a bit redundant when there was no end product.
It was typical Lennon. He gave Evra all sorts of problems but everytime he beat him he would **** up his cross.

Messi against MU was fine, his end product is good, there was just no one there to do anything with it. Lennon, his end ball is beyond pathetic even on his best days like today, there were people in the box, he can never get it to them.

AS to City, I don't remember anyone from City frankly actually saying they'd buy a ton of huge players in January, building up to Jan I remember plenty of managers saying its very difficult to get anyone in January as big players aren't really up for grabs till the summer in general, which is true. AFAIK they only serious offer they made for anyone huge was Kaka, and to be honest that almost went through, it reads to me that Milan could have told them no meeting, not allowed to talk to Kaka, never gonna happen, but it all got up to the 11th hour and methinks the hoards of protesting fans outside the owner/managers buildings scared them into finally saying no more than anything else.

Lets be honest they had the money, Milan clearly weren't saying no up till the final seconds or they would have just gone off to ***** millions on someone else.

De Jong is infinately better than anything they had before, Bellamy has scored 4 in 7 and put in very good performances in all 7. Bridge, is better than Ball by a mile though not great and shockingly Zabeleta hasn't looked too bad in the last couple games. They still lack a real winger though, Petrov still out, SWP utter turd.

ANyway, pretty much every major player linked with City, was mostly the same as Arshavin's stuff, agents and clubs trying to stir up interest and prices on their players by claiming the richest club in the world was after them. probably more than 25 players worth 30mil or more were mentioned in the press, the press talk a lot of crap basically.

They got decent quality to secure prem and build on for next year, job done.

Oh so we have a Sheffield United fan...

;) was nice doing the double over you :p first time in 95 years :)

:p Like i said to every other Wednesday fan i know, Congratulations on the win, and you was the better team.:)

However, An even bigger congratulations to Barnsley on the double! :p

But, to be fair - You deserved to win, so i had no problem with it, We was pap, all there is to it. :)

I agree with stokefan. It really does reveal the amount of glory hunters that beseige this site. It makes me sick when you read people saying We We We, Man Utd, Chelsea and then finding the location to be Cardiff, Sheffield etc. Makes me sick.

I know you can support whoever you want and yes it's a free country but the only words I can think of when I read the posts are Fake and False.

So, what if it happens that they came from the city that they support the team? Does that still mean they are Glory Hunters? And also, if football doesn't run in your family (as it does for mine) i'd guess it is hard to get into a relatively non-successful football club.

from Tottenham
support Tottenham

:D

of course nothing wrong with supporting a team when you live no where near the place

just dont be surprised if your called a glory hunter especially if your team owns everything in sight

Was sickening in the pub today. I live in the middle of the country and the number of **** fans in there was just saddening :( I bet neither had visited Trafford in their life. Glory grabbing sad *****. They were all chanting ManU chants like they were mancs or something, I mean wtf?

My Geography at 4 wasn't great. Sorry.
What I can't stand is ignorant people like yourself who only come into this section with negative comments regarding who supports who. I am probably a bigger supporter of my team than most local boys are to theirs. I would put you into this equation.

Like wohoo said, 'fans' of smaller clubs are just as bad. You only have to look at the attendances of the smaller Premier League clubs (not to mention the yoyo clubs in and out of the prem) for games against Utd, Liverpool etc to the rest of their games to see that.

One of my mates is from Norfolk and suddenly became a Norwich supporter the year they got promoted, now he's back buying his gooner shirts.

Don't see the big deal if you aren't *from* who you support, aslong as you follow/support them. Guess part of it is going to most of their games, which many dont, but probably support their team more than many that go to them. I watch most of Utd's games simply because when i grew up, they were always on TV and i was able to see them play occasionally, but haven't missed a fulham home game since 2006, and only 2 missed before that.

Does annoy me the ones that 'support' a team when they win things. See that in Chelsea/Arsenal moreso around where i'm from though!

Ever thought of the possibility work might take you away from your home city? Its also quite possible a lot of supporters have been following the same club for long enough to remember the lean years before the glory

Idiot

Been following United since I was 5 mate...when Liverpool were winning everything under the sun so not exactly gloryhunting was it? My nearest league club is Cardiff but I have no interest in them whatsoever. So why should I go to a tiny ground and hang about with a bunch of 80's throwback hooligans (Thankfully that element is starting to die out there). So I'll support MY team. I'll say WE and OUR when referring to them. Because I love United as much as anyone.
