Weekend Football Thread - 15/8 to 17/8 *spoilers*

With a run of games I can see him getting 15 or more league goals this season and 20 to 25 in total.

Can also see Adebayor getting 25+ goals in a settled side. Would love the see the look on some Arsenal supporters faces if he does have a good season.

Both distinctly average players - just because they have moved teams wont improve them that much as players imo (ok Ade potentially playing with better surrounding players but even thats argueable

Bent @ Sunderland being near the top of the goal scoring chart (seeing as 19 I seem to recall won the Golden boot last season) - hmmmm I dont think so.....it will be interesting to see, and will happily admit I was wrong if it does happen;)

The planets must be in alignment.

Did you see how he scored though :p

"We've had a lot of 'firsts' today, it being the opening day of the new Premier League season. Here's another one: First jammy goal of the new campaign goes to Fulham, when Clint Dempsey's shot hits team-mate Bobby Zamora and flies in the opposite corner of the net, leaving Pompey keeper David James completely stranded. Poor old Pompey aren't having the greatest luck are they?"

1532: GOAL FLASH Aston Villa 0-1 Wigan Athletic

1530: That game at Villa Park is the only one in the Premier League without a goal so far. Back at the Britannia Stadium, Burnley have just had their first corner. That's my last first of the day, I promise...
He spoke to soon

Ive had an amusing thought - that might be the last time Chelsea lead the Premiership this season (if Stoke keep or improve their 2-0 lead) :D

(I know its unlikely but it made me laugh anyway)
