Weekend Football Thread 23-26 *spoilers*

Not the exact word I'd use, but what's the point in getting into semantics.

Definitely worrying though, letting a 1 - 0 and then a 2 - 0 lead go when the other team aren't even in the game, suddenly it's 2 points dropped. Can't understand why Arsenal didn't just stick 5 past West Ham, why do they stop scoring at 2 :/

Vidic once again shows the world how much of a thug he is - its an absolute disgrace the number of times he took out torres - and only got sent off towards the end. How crap must he be feeling now :p

thug?? None of his challenges were malicious. While the two yellows were both deserved Torres did crumple when Vidic went within a metre of him. He's very clever and knows how to get freekicks and players booked. It's not that he's weak, you can see with the goal that when he wants to hold his own he can.

Bam.

He falls over when it suits him.

which should be a bookable offence - but he gets away with it time and time again

(I didnt agree with Evra getting booked for the Torres tripping over himself, but Torres should have admitted it to the ref even after the free-kick, and no I dont believe its possible he couldnt have known it was himself....what I was goign to say though was that in that instance he couldnt have done anything else apart from fall over but to get someone booked over it will always make him a dishonest / worse player)

At least 1 of the 2 fouls on Torres on the half way line, Vidic knew exactly what he was doing. Like the Kuyt challenge that saw him sent off, he knew Torres was turning away from him and made sure that wasn't going to happen. And those weren't occasions where Torres dropped to the ground under any challenge (which he did do, similarly to Berbatov I should add). He also tried to take out Reina to stop him starting a counter attack which usually is a yellow card by itself.

More like Torres knew exactly what he was doing. I'll admit, he's a clever player - puts himself in between the defender and the ball, waits for the slightest contact, and BAM it's the old "sniper in the stands" routine.

Clever yes, but very unsporting - and doesn't work unless you get lucky with a ref who buys it. Which is what you got yesterday.

And I think you'll find Reina was in such a hurry that he barged into Vidic when getting rid of the ball. Neither player appealed for a FK as it quite simply wasn't.

Vidic was skinned badly last year. Yesterday he did very well, as i've said above the officiating was enough to decide the outcome of the match.

Every player in the prem falls over when it suits them :/ It's not like Torres is the only one, literally every single player falls over when they don't need to

To be fair to Arsenal yesterday the free kick wasn't a free kick and the pen wasn't exactly blatant.

Still their fault though, should've killed the game off much earlier. For all of Arshavin's amazing technique his decision making seems mental, it's like he doesn't care even when its 2-2.

Arshavin has been poor for the last few games, doesn't seem too interested at the moment or he just can't get used to playing on the left.

Agree on the free kick though, should never have been given, but Mannoe should have done better, needs to be dropped.

Torres is by far the worst for it.

Eduardo is worse

Arshavin has been garbage all season, I thought about sugar coating it as I know he's loved (and I love him too) but he's been lazy, looked uninterested and contributed half of what I'd expect of him. He's constantly leaving Clichy exposed as he's the only one in the team who refuses to run unless he has the ball. His attitude isn't good enough and if I were Wenger I'd drop him. If he's not working hard and not playing well, what's the point?

Liverpool did deserve to win, but I have to question the ref not sending of Carragher after just seeing the highlights. Looked like he bottled it.

Still think Arsenal have a more than capable squad for winning the title, and the champs league, however if we keep starting Song/Diaby and Denilson when he's back, over Rosicky, Eduardo, Bendtner, Vela, and others for no apparent reason(as we did last year) I can't see it. We've now played 2 against the top half, lost both, played 7 against the bottom half, won 5 and drawn 1, when tbh, West Ham played (for the final 35-40mins) like a top half team of last year. Well, as we play more top half teams we'll drop back if we keep playing as pathetically in midfield as we did today.

I lol'd.

Or he was sticking up his middle-finger to SAF. Refs are a 'little' annoyed at him and I know enough refs to know that personal feels DO impair judgement.

Plain and simple, it's shoddy.

Its not that plain and simple. the first goal came from their player running into ours who stood still. Didnt see him even take a step.

The second was a dive for the penalty. He barely touched the back of his leg and both were on their feet.

So i dont think it was shoddy as you call it.

Dont bad mouth one of our only selfish players lol

At least he shoots on goal which is why i miss Rosicky.
