Weekend Football Thread 23-26 *spoilers*

A good squad yes, but I'll be quite surprised if you finish in the top four this season - if you do it'll only because Liverpool fall completely out of contention and they're not the kind of team that you write off just yet. That said, I did expect perhaps 2-1 from your lot today, so I am surprised at the loss considering you were at home too. Next month's games will be all telling in my opinion.

I don't know who you think he supports, but he doesn't support them. :p

Meh, I wasn't really paying attention if truth be told. I'm sure he'll get over it. :p

Doesn't really matter anyway.

According to Tummy, it's much more likely for one of the top 4 to drop out of it than it is for someone outside the top 4 to get there. ;)

Spurs brought back down to reality yesterday :p

I hope the two live games are decent today! Btw if anyone's having a bet, Vidic to be the first carded in the Man U Vs. Liverpool game looks overpriced at 14/1.

EDIT: gah I guess it was, Skybet have brought it down to 11s. Still a decent shout though.

Joe Cole has been out injured for ages and during that time he said that he doesn't want to sign a new contract until he can regain & prove his fitness, probably to secure a better deal, fair enough.
He's another lad who's said before he wants to finish his career at Chelsea, the club have said they want him and Kenyon recently said he's near to signing a new contract and CA has admitted before to being a big fan of his and yesterday said:

Ancelotti said: "I was very impressed with him. Joe is a very important player for us. He has fantastic quality in midfield. He is a genius.

"He's a great professional. After 10 months out it's not easy Joe to play like he did. I'm happy for him."

He won't be leaving any time soon:)

He's an awesome player, the only way I can see him leaving is if Chelsea start to slip, and he falls down the pecking order, but he should be one of the first on the team sheet, he's a phenomenal player. He'd be awesome for Utd, Liverpool etc.

So er... Man U vs Liverpool.

I think this one is totally down to the scousers. If the team from Wednesday turn up, United will run them over three or four nil. If the team that beat United twice last season does I expect the gap to be closed to four points.

did the clocks go back this morning?

edit - completely forgot, and was waiting for team news and it was driving me crazy hahaha

Love it!

I thought Spurs had the best squad in the League according to ... can't remember his name :p Just enjoy reminding you of it Skip ;)

Spurs were just unlucky, not the first and won't be the last to lose to a big, strong, route one Stoke.

'Arry brought back to earth with a bump.

@ Skip, Manchester City / Spurs will finish top 4, or Villa have an outside shot of getting the top four, Liverpool are poor this season. I'd say Spurs / City have a better team / squad.

Indeed. Not looking forward to the game at all.

Nice to see whisky nose has blamed the number of red cards his players have received at Anfield on the atmosphere rather than the behavior of his players. Not trying to influence the referee before the game again is he?

hopefully they will throw the book at him with the latest charges and not some pathetic 2 game touchline ban

I expect liverpool to steam roller united this afternoon, United have been very lackluster this season.

Yes I know Liverpool have been awful this season, but United have struggled against every half decent team they have played so far this season, and liverpool in all seriousness are better than half decent when it comes to these games.
