You would assume so wouldn't you.
But then you watch him and he's trying the same things, making the same mistakes..and it has to make you wonder.

Nani is far better than Quaresma. He has never had a run of games that he really needs. Just look at people slacking off Anderson a few weeks ago saying he would never be united quality, Fergie gave him 3 starts in a week and he played really damn well and heavily contributed to 3 good victories. Shows the benefits of having some consistency to your team and not chopping and changing every damn game.

but then you are starting with a better quality player to start with in Anderson imo, and I think its a little unfair to say Nani has never had consistant games at Utd - maybe not this season, but last couple of seasons he has had runs of games and just not produced

I agree with your point about consistancy in general though - very true, although I think its virtually impossible to ask nigh on the same players to play wed & sat in the EPL and groups of CL and not expect injuries before new year.

without thinking about the FA and Carling Cup's - personally think any team who wants to have a really decent season needs to have at least 19 players to call on for the EPL and CL (2 gk, 6 defenders, 8 midfielders, 3 strikers) as a bare minimum and even if they where all top internationals that would be stretched by the end of the season imo (thats without considering club /international breaks and injuries here)

Whatever top club you play for (and some players more than others just because of their style of play) - a lot of players need a non start every few games just from the nature of the season
 
Nani still, as yet, has done nothing to prove his worth. I agree there is something there, I mean, we were after him when you snapped him up. ;)

But, until he fulfills that potential, he's just an average player which has been shown in the vast majority of his performances.
 
I think Nani and Quaresma are about the same level, obvious talent there but an inability to make the right choice on the field which has to stem from some selfish motivation/general stupidity. It's frustrating to see.

the arabs in question where certainly at the perfect match to be persuaded thats for sure

Although some reports are suggesting Hicks is trying to push them to invest nearer the £300m mark compared to £200m (which was their original plan so I understand)

Torres is a good forward, best in the world? mmm not so sure. He's right up there though.

Nani is alright, nothing special yet, looks a lot like Ronaldo looked when he started out, and lets face it, he didn't turn out too bad.
 
I'd love to see Villa play in the Premiership..

But yeh there seems to be a good handful of strikers that are on fire at the moment.

Could you say Ronaldo is a striker? If he was classed as just a striker he'd be the best surely
