Weekend Football Thread. *spoilers* 29-31

I'm sure United would say the same for Arsenal as well ;)

Week in week out we here about Arsenal outplaying teams. The sad reality is that teams let Arsenal play these pretty little triangles in the middle 3rd of the field and it's in the final 3rd it all comes unstuck (Unless of course your Everton and as well all know *>Everton). Pretty little triangles don't win you the Prem unfortunately. Possession football counts for bugger all if you don't do anything with it

You clearly missed the point.

Please do not dispel the myth that all clueless football supports seem to sprout.

Actually HUGE LOL. :D

To be honest..

How is this not?

How does this not have the furore surrounding it that eduardo's did. Look where his left foot leaves a gash in the grass from him dragging it.

mainly because the rest of the world isn't playing the arsenal fan 'victim' card that we seem to be getting this week.

Because Eduardo's is clear cut. There was no challenge from the keeper and he just threw himself to the ground. Rooney is on his way down before any contact but you could argue that he was anticipating it as it was inevitable.

It was obvious to Wayne that the keeper's arms were going to make contact with him so he just poked the ball ahead. If he planted his left foot instead of dragging it he would still of been caught. Clear example of riding a challenge, where the chances of avoiding it are slim and the rewards for which are 0 compared to gaining a legitimate penalty.
Saying Rooney is a cheat is like saying you disagree with the principle of football.

That Arshavin pen is laughable, everyone in the world knew it was a penalty, so surely the referee must, what is strange is why he didn't give it when he knew it was a pen

Arsenal did things I thought, RvP should have put the game to bed with that early chance, then he hit the bar, and there should have been a penalty too. 3 or 4 goal scoring opportunities at Old Trafford (plus the 5 or so half chances) is a good return I think. The triangles are just a different way to goal, don't see why you're trying to dismiss them, they work, you can't have forgotten about the CL final already!?
