Weekend Football Thread. *spoilers* 29-31

Generally, I think they've been very impressive up to now. Tbh there's a lot worse teams than them, they could easily finish top half.

erm, I'm not sure.

Leicester have looked fairly average (from friends who are season ticket holders) but have been picking up points.

I think that, most of the teams are at about the same level, some a bit higher and some probably a bit lower.

Leicester get a good run of wins, they can be in the play offs, same can be said for a lot of clubs :)

and you could have just as easily NOT scored the penalty

all Arsenal can say is that they should have got a penalty INSTEAD of the goal.....whether thats scored or not is a completely different question (or probability if you want to look at it that way)

its all ifs buts and maybe's ;)

You could just as easily suggest Utd would have scored again with one of their handful of chances
You? I don't support Arsenal. ;) Odd that attempting a fair assessment of the situation would lead you to believe that.

My point was simply that it's not true to say Arsenal would still have lost since they took the lead a few minutes later anyway. Any number of results is possible after that, including Utd winning by the same or different scorline, including Arsenal going on to win. So for people to say Arsenal fans shouldn't care about the penalty not being given because they scored soon after is an inherently flawed argument.

I'm glad Arsene's had a little strop, it's been too nicey-nicey between United and Arsenal the last couple of years. Now I can hate him again!:)

If it was a completely SEPERATE move then I would agree with you - but the whole point was that it was basically the same attack, so they wouldnt necessarily have scored again

If you weren't ignoring what I'm saying you might realise I'm not claiming they would have necessarily scored again. It's possible they would have taken the lead through the penalty and gone on to lose 5-1, although considering the balance of play that would have been highly unlikely.

Weekend 'leg break' - absolutely disgusting tackle, hope he gets banned for a very long time!!
Video not for the squeamish!!

reposted earlier in the thread I believe.

I agree, horrible tackle, unfortunately I don't think those kind of lunges are as rare as you'd believe, just that break is rare, and awful.

I was trying to read up on his, heard a few reports saying his career is over, does anyone else know anything ?

Newcastle are basically a Champions League standard team mixing it with small clubs in a rubbish division.

It's too easy.

No wonder you are so bitter!

AHAHAHAHAHHA

;)

I'd wait and see how your lot turn up away in places like Cardiff, I guess we won't have to wait too long to find out.

:p
