Weekend Football Thread *spoilers be inside*

What the hell has happened to Vidic he was immense for the last 2 seasons

In fairness to the assistant referee, the shirt pulling was very obvious and it was on the man who was jumping for the ball, just as he was about to jump, so it was a certain penalty

Even as an United-despising Arsenal supporter, that was a ridiculous decision. Even with replays i'm not sure what the foul was given for!

This is the 3rd or fourth game changing decision we've had in the last few weeks. first the 'dive' by fletcher, then the chelsea goal, then the Evra 'dive' midweek. Now a penalty that I've seen 5 replays of and still can't see anything wrong. How idiotic people can still say we get all the decisions our way is beyond me. And then what about the handball in the area a few minutes later??

Portsmouth players reactions says it all. Even the "fouled" player ran out of the area assuming it was a free kick for us.

Not one fan in the stadium complained, not one player. One person thought that was a penalty, and no one else..

The shirt tug from Vidic is a penalty by the letter of the law, you must have seen it??

Rumours of the ref's getting their own back on Fergie! Wouldn't be surprised to be fair :D

Nope, even the commentators thought it must have been something to do with Brown! Just utter bullcrap.

Well you'll see it on MotD later and probably agree it was a pen. However, they're not usually given, but I think they should be all the time (then it'd stop straight away) as it is a foul

Then the ref's need to either decide to give it all the time or never give it. Either way its a bit wishy washy. A bit like the offside "active player" rule a few seasons ago.
