Weekend Football Thread *spoilers be inside*

Well you'll see it on MotD later and probably agree it was a pen. However, they're not usually given, but I think they should be all the time (then it'd stop straight away) as it is a foul

I'm just not buying it, why didn't a single Pompey player appeal then? It doesn't matter whether you think those should be given, they just aren't...except apparently when it's against United.

Meh, not my call really is it, in a perfect world a foul should equal a foul. For some reason the shirt tugging in the box has turned into 'one of those things' when it shouldn't be. Consistency in decisions should be vital though. That said, the referee'ing has been poor in general, Fletcher somehow got away without a yellow for those 3 hacks and then dragging the Portsmouth player down. Dunno what's going on in the ref's head.

Overall though a draw is about right so far, Portsmouth shoulda scored at least one of their chances

LOL its funny how you just put 2 and 2 together and made 5:rolleyes:...i didnt say that Arsenal have a better squad than Chelski...i said we have a younger squad compared to your OAP's...big difference in words there i never said i believed,

/pedant
I didn't make 5 at all! What I actually said was: "if you believe arsenal have a better squad you are having a laugh."
/pedant

But I'll admit that I did think you were agreeing with the other arsenal comments :p

Only seen two people say it was a pen, one was cheets, and one earlier said it was another Rooney dive.

They were both soft penalties .. Everyone else who is posting supports Man Utd!

It's a very similar situation to the Eduardo dive situation, Arsenal fans were looking for consistency in punishment (not a 3 game ban, a yellow card), which is why the Man Utd fans should be aggrieved here, it was a foul in the penalty area, but penalties aren't usually given, just like bans aren't for diving. Anywhere else on the pitch, Vidic does that and it's a foul without question.

haha at the commentators saying how was that not offside then going back on it when they see the replay :D

I really hate listening to Steve Claridge. I don't know about everyone else, but I always hear a very arrogant tone to his voice, as though he thinks because he has played professionally he knows more than everything else.

I think I just hate his voice as well.
