** Weekend Football Thread ** *spoilers*

No mate, Gomez took Carrick Down, the only argument is if he got the ball first, its only the fact that Carrick wasnt going straight down the middle of goal that meant he wasnt sent off.

I didn't say anything about a possible sending off for it.

It's simple.

GK gets no touch of ball but brings player down = Pen
GK brings player down first but touches ball after making contact = Pen
GK touches ball first then player goes down = No Pen

WTF? I put £4 on united to win at 5/1 and have got £20 back

Since when did you not get the money back that you put down? Why haven't I got £24?

If this is on betfair, they always give decimal odds by default. Hover the mouse over the decimal odds to get the fractional odds.

For example on betfair currently the odds for Man Utd to win the premiership is 1.13 or 0.13/1 (they round to 2/15). For Liverpool 9.0 or 8/1.

I know that, I am giving the reasoning behind the Refs decision, I understand the rules and workings of the game more than you evidently or we wouldnt be having this argument, he clearly hasnt seen the keeper get the ball, so he has given the pen.

Thank you, good night, and give my regards to that AC Milan supporting half wit in my ignore list.

Thats the argument we are having, where have you been all evening?

Webb didnt see the ball deviate, therefore he couldnt tell if Gomez got a touch, thats why he has given the pen.

Where have i debated that? Just because Webb didn't see it, it doesn't mean it was the right decision. All i said was that it wasn't a pen and was responding to somebody who said it was a clear pen.

I wasn't arguing though.

I said twice that the ref was right to give it if he didn't see the touch but you quoted me twice trying to explain how it was a definite penalty.

Naa i did it on ladbrokes and the odds were 5.00 so I've sent them an e-mail.

I didnt say you were dude, you seemed to be bewildered as to why it was contentious :)

Can someone please answer the question i asked twice? Would much appreciate it.

Why did i get £20 back and not £24 when i put £4 on united to win at 5/1?

Do you no longer get your money back?

If the odds were 5.00 then that's 4/1, not 5/1. Some sites use decimals.

At 2-0 down Man Utd were 4/1 on Ladbrokes and a fair few other sites.

DUHHH I really should refresh the page when I've been gone for 45 minutes.

We've had a damn game in hand hanging over us for months. I wish we could just put Liverpool out of their misery already. :p

It's a pretty sad state of affairs if people think poor refereeing decisions outside Old Trafford is either an honest mistake/bad judgement/human error yet inside Old Trafford it means the referees are corrupt.
