Weekend Football Thread *spoilers*

Wednesday :(

Meh, utterly awful performance! I can forgive a lack of skill but not effort, we showed no fight today in a game we could (and should have) won at home.

Thats 1 win in 10 games? Relegation form :(

A lot of people shouting for our managers head. I'm not sure where I sit, I don't think there are many managers that would want to take over at Wednesday, 25 million in debt, no money to spent, fairly weak squad :(

Just an awful awful day of football for me :(

And to think some people said the title race was over last week, noobs eh?

Didn't all but one person in the universe just say its a two horse race after last weekend? Infact every footie website and paper all went on about it now being a two horse race. Liverpool and Arsenal would need a miracle to get back in it.

6 I think, Chelsea are getting fined apparently.

You get a fine automatically with 5 or more yellows, though some of them were dodgey as hell. Some truly pathetic refereeing in the second half. THe Adebayor/Ivanovic incident where Adebayor just stopped running and threw his hands in the air was an incredibly bad decision considering the linesman was right there. A ludicrous dive by Tevez where he pretended to have been yanked back by the throat and flung himself to the ground at which point he seemed confused as to which part of his body he should pretend to be hurt.

Decent game to watch though, thank god we put out a crappy team to face City, so after their long run of draws we gave them an easy game and they got some confidence.

As for Arsenal today, well, obviously Song was god damned awful, at fault for all the goals conceded by any team today......

We looked better, more fluid, more link up play, though not quite sure what our formation was at times. First 10 minutes were heavy pressure by Stoke, then it seemed as if Eboue was pushed further up, almost as a withdrawn striker and was in the box far more often, we had more possesion up the field from then on and dominated large portions of the game from that point on. Arshavin back on form was great too see, Eboue played well bar an unfortunate blocked shot by Fabregas.

Shame Fab missed the penalty, we looked nervous at times after that and were having a hard time getting the 2nd goal. Not decided if Ramsey meant to hit it on the outside of his foot into that corner on purpose to deceive the keeper, or if he was going for the other corner and sliced it, nice run into the box though.

EDIT:- just checking the table, Liverpool way further down than I though, City a game hand over Villa and really looking far stronger for the top 4 than Liverpool right now after another crap performance. But the games lost this year are surprising, Chelsea, Villa and Utd at 3, Arsenal, Spurs at 4, Liverpool with 5 lost and City, only lost 1. Considering their defence is pretty much different every week, and intergrating lots of new players thats outstanding to be honest. The main reason being Given, I wish Wenger snapped him up for 5 mil years and years ago, truly outstanding keeper, but for Adebayor pulled off 2 stunning saves within seconds of each other, a penalty save and multiple other great bits of keeping.

Good victory by Man City...just a shame Arsenal didnt do what City did today....still reckon that the title will go to Chelski in the end unless Arsenal manage a miracle and start beating teams regularly and not get beaten by lower teams as is always the case with us.

Good decent performance by us today as well..Stoke are one of thos bogey teams so wasnt too sure how we would perform...nice to see Arshavin get a goal and Ramsey as well.

Problem is, Chelsea are not loosing to teams like Burnley, where as United are, and not looking like taking points of their main title rivals either.

Chelsea are 2 points in front and 2 goals + difference which is another point so call it 3 points in front. Citeh are the new boro, game raising **** they can only do it against the top 3, Beat Chelsea and Arsenal and took United to a 4-3 last minute goal.

Loving what?

Birmingham winning.
