Weekend Football Thread *spoilers*

Fergie got it wrong big time in that second half. :( Should have had Berbatov on for Giggs at half time if he was injured, and Obertan on for Park. As it was we had nothing on the left wing apart from Evra both with and without Park on the pitch. Then, predictably, Rooney gets stranded out there and proceeds to ping ball after ball at Berbatov and Owen, neither of whom are going to win any headers. Very frustrating, but hey-ho, only 1 point dropped really and there'll be plenty more opportunities.

And no, we didn't deserve anything out of that second half though the first half was very even (and entertaining).

hehe, some bad ref decisions at the end, Brown on Carew was a clear foul and yellow, sometimes given as a red aswell. From what I remember there were all 6 subs and a few stoppages, probably should have been more than 3 minutes so I guess we can expect a huge rant at ref's again.

Surprisingly good weekend for Arsenal, was dreading City and Spurs having "easy" games, Chelsea extending their lead against a crappy compared to last year Everton, Utd getting beaten, losing to Liverpool wouldn't be half as bad now while winning would be fantastic. If everyone else had won and we lost we'd have more to worry about.

Though I had Villa down as a win this weekend in my accumulator.

EDIT:_ Don't know whats wrong with Fergie, Berbatov was the second best Utd player last year even if Utd fans don't rate him. The amount of goals he set up by starting the move rather than getting the final pass or shot was immense. He played Rooney/Ronaldo in behind the defence countless times in almost every game, how he's not starting every single game I don't know, one of the best players in the league.

Forget the the we were awful guff (although we truly were) Credit to Villa for coming to play attacking football in a very controlled way and tried to exploit our frailties on the right hand side of defence. Just shows what happens when you go away from home looking for a win

Villa deserved the win no question, however, for a change, there should have been more fergie time than 3 minutes, 6 subs is 3 minutes, then there was the contact lens issue which went on for at least a minute, but tbh, i'm happy we were beat, the best team deserved it - congrats Villa, maybe it'll give us a kick up the arse, although, again, our final touch let us down YET again, we need a quality striker or 2 in the Xfer window IMO.
