You were definitely the better team but 'battered' is a bit harsh. We always sit back after going 1-0 up it's mental.

Your left back seemed quite good today, the skin head bloke? Probably MOTM for me.

I thought for the first 15 minutes you controlled it but then afterwards we were by far the best side (especially after HT).

The only real chance you had in the 2nd was the goal and that was just simple route one, knock down and goal.

Dickinson (left back) is immense, he's on loan from Stoke but he loves playing for us - he was really up for it today.

Caroll is a bloody beast, I didn't realise how big him and Nolan were before today. Not many give Darren Moore a hard game aerially but they had a right battle!

On a side note it's lovely to see Wednesday in the bottom three

Great results for Arsenal this weekend, feels like a long time since Arsenal actually won a big game in the league, would like that to change tomorrow. If the team are energetic and enthusiastic and get the first goal it will help, otherwise I can see Liverpool being solid and taking their chances, could go either way

im gonna say 1-1

1-1 is wishful thinking IMO. I hope QPR beat them but I can't see it happening not with their off the field problems. West Brom to win unfortunately.

yeah but never say never, blackpool beat us and boro and then struggling ipswich win today. I will be a happy with a point in the west brom game, but as you say could be wishful thinking.

as long as we keep doing what have been doing and grinding results out, whether ugly or not and dont get complacent we should do ok.

when sir bobby passed on (rip ) the documentaries they showed of how our media set out against bobby when he was england manager was disgusting. then in his dying days the press were licking up to him. our bobby knew what they were like and wasnt fooled or phased by it.

The English media won't pick up on Gerrard / Rooney because they like to convince themselves (as many fans do) that their players are honest, which they're not. It's not the foreigners that have suddenly started cheating, it's always happened, no matter where you're from.

The thing that annoys me is that both Rooney and Gerrard have both publicly stated that they would never dive and have blasted 'foreign' players that do.

They are, but I also don't like the way he's associated with Newcastle he did far more for Ipswich then Newcastle.

He did well where ever he went, but his heart was in newcastle and had black and white blood running through and through him. To not say he did anything for us is mad, he got us finishing 3rd in the premier league and doing pretty decent in the champions league

Compare that to what he did at Ipswhich, he took them in to Europe and to the FA Cup Final, managed over 700 games. He didn't win anything at Newcastle.

He was an very good manager, one whom I repsect more because he managed ourside of England.

i have respect for bobby for everything he did as everyone else does, achievment wise he probably did do better at ipswich, and ok we won nothing but no other manager apart from keegan's first coming (where we came runners up to winning the league) ever got us that far.

this is like saying shearer is more of a blackburn legend when they won the league, bobby and shearer would put newcastle united before any other club.

this aside, i want to hear people complain about liverpool again

Boddy supported Newcastle - then fair play, got to manage his club.
