Weekend Football Thread *spoilers*

edit: So who's starting a thread on that diving hypocrite Rooney then?

I thought that dive was disgusting. He always does it though and it seems to pass the public eye.

I think they should start banning people with video evidence after the match when people blatently dive like that. A yellow card isnt enough to put people off diving. Didnt Ed get a ban after the match? If so Rooney should get the same treatment.

If they get away with it they get a easy goal opportunity. If they get caught diving then they get a slap on the wrist with a yellow card.

If they got a three match ban after reviewing with video evidence after the match then that would make the managers clamp down on diving.

Not that its going to happen.

Either win for Arsenal, or a draw today, as UTD lost and Chelski drew, and we always get beat/draw when that happens, as we always get chances to claw some points back, close the gap a bit, but we never take them, its same old everytime.

Liverpool team.
Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Aurelio, Mascherano, Lucas, Kuyt, Gerrard, Benayoun, Torres.

I'm sure we'll see Aquilani replace Lucas in the first team sometime this season but other than him that's as good a team as we can field.

Looks like arshavin upfront again which is good news. Hopefully Walcott can get his head in gear and start using his pace to put pressure on their defence.

Im a little worried about our height though. Hopefully they keep the ball down on the floor and Liverpool dont realise we are a bunch of shorties. ;)

I think we'll be very vulnerable at the set piece, but as long as we don't give too many silly free kicks away we should be alright. Can't wait to see how Arshavin plays up front again, he's got a great first touch that always seems to create space and he's an immense finisher too. If him and Nasri have a good game then they can give Liverpool some real headaches.

I want to see Walcott getting the ball down that wing and whipping in some low crosses, hopefully he'll be more effective than he was in the Champions League match last week. :)

Don't worry, we usually waste 99% of set pieces, especially corners which seem pointless normally.

True, I meant defensive set piece though! I should have worded it a bit better. :(

I would've started Ramsey and left Denilson on the bench to come on as a late sub. Anyway. Be back at half time, off to watch the game now. :D

COME ON ARSENAL!!! :p

i predict another afternoon of walcott trying to defy physics by trying to run through people.

3 - 1 to arsenal though.

Yeah he hasnt quite got that running AROUND people down to a tee yet has he.

I just hope we can get some early goals and hope liverpool go into a depression. They can always start their season next week ;)
