Weekend Football Thread *spoilers*

edit: come to think of it, it was very similar to the 2 yellows Adebayor got against us last season.

It was nothing like it:confused:Adebayor was putting himself between the ball and the man. Mascherano went in studs up inbetween the players legs.

If Chelsea win tomorrow go 8 points above you :D

Whilst Chelsea didn't win, what an odd statement. Unless Chelsea where set to get more points for a win, 8 points was the gap at the start of the weekend.

Any idea when Arsenal play their game in hand, would like to get it out the way.

Bolton 6th Jan

Yes very, havent Arsenal had this one since about 1 or 2 games in to the season?

Yes, the Champions League Qualifier against Celtic took it's place.

Doesn't seem odd to me at all, Arsenal played a game and won so were 'only' 5pts behind, queue all the 'right back in the title race' nonsense, he was just pointing out the potential enormity of the task ahead of them.

But him scoring or the goalkeeper not saving it has nothing to do with players who are a step inside the box when the penalty is taken. There's just no common sense in football at times. I'd imagine you'd be pretty miffed at the referee taking a penalty again and missing it.

He should be miffed at his teammates for encroaching, not the ref. He's just enforcing the rules. You could argue that players entering the box before the kick is taken could potentially be distracting the keeper too. If you didn't have that rule, where would it end? Players going and standing in front of the keeper waving their arms about 'doing a Keown'? :)

If Green had saved it, it would have been Chelsea's just result in any case as it was a fine tackle - the award shouldnt have taken place in the first instance (even if both teams where guilty of encrouchment)

Good grief will you get over yourself, no-one is saying sack Fergie (well except atpbx, but then I don't think he'd be truly happy until a clone team of 11 hims were playing)

I'm happy when the team plays decent football, I'm happy when there are players at the club who play like they care and are decent quality.
Its Ok saying hey look at our away record its the best out of the top 4.

Hello? Manchester United is the second biggest football club IN THE WORLD.
It isnt acceptable for a club of that size to have no available defenders, two wingers who cant cross, a geriatric keeper and a striker who cant be bothered.

Its that simple.

It's not that simple at all when you have 8 defenders injured, no club in the world could deal with that, not Chelsea, not Barcelona not anyone

Just me who finds the premier league hideously boring then :D Part of me will be sad if we (Forest) ever go up.

Got to agree, I've never enjoyed football as much as i do now that Leeds are in league 1 (possibly partially due to the fact it's so easy, especially when you have teams like millwall.........oh yes i did)

Looking forward to a potential season in the championship next season, assuming no slip ups, should be another enjoyable league, a part of me wants us to eventually get back to the premiership because it's where we belong *awaits people saying your not a big club anymore* but the other part enjoys the upy downyness (yes i made up some words!) of the other leagues

I would welcome Leeds back in the Prem, I didn't shed a tear when they went down mind but I still think the United/Leeds games added a little extra something :)

January is going to be strange with Essien and Drogba gone for Chelsea, Song for Arsenal and Man Utd with no defence, if one of the teams wins most of their games they could go ahead. Can see a the top teams dropping some points
