Weekend Football Thread *spoilers*

Cheers West Ham - well played, sorry you didnt get the 3 points every member of your team deserved after their full spirited performance

Chelsea - lucky ****** yet again lol

It could have been far worse
 
Woot what a December for us so far - played 4, won 4 in the PL all without conceding a goal and so have capitialised when teams around us are dropping points:

Chelski 5 points
Man U 6 points
Arsenal 10 points
Spurs 7 points
Man City 7 points
Liverpool 4 points

Been a good run into the New Year - nice to be in our position not out of sheer luck but playing pretty consistently - the next 2 matches are gonna be very important to how the season unfolds...

Chelsea have been absolutely crap for weeks now, every team we play has far more spirit than us and just want to win more.
We constantly give the ball away and are 2nd best in the tackle not to mention the comedy defending that's been on show.
The only thing keeping me sane is that Liverpool are in a far worse state:p
 
I've just seen the Lampard penalty, what a joke that the referee had him take it 3 times. Awful refereeing. Fair enough if the penalty is saved and a player who was inside the box scores the rebound, then order it to be retaken (for the unfair advantage). But him scoring or the goalkeeper not saving it has nothing to do with players who are a step inside the box when the penalty is taken. There's just no common sense in football at times. I'd imagine you'd be pretty miffed at the referee taking a penalty again and missing it.
 
Simple rule change is all that's needed. If a team mate steps in to the box it should only be retaken if it goes in, either directly or from a follow up. If an opposing teams player steps in the box it's retaken only if it's saved.
 
Luckily I was out all day yesterday so had things to take my mind off what was going on in London but what a silver lining today's game was

Much like last season the league is having weeks where the top 2/3 all drop points in the same weekend

Having said that though we need to get our defenders back ASAP as Chelsea wont keep letting us off the hook

It's annoying isn't it? :p

I hate it when Man Utd have a game in hand, seems like an age before we finally get it out of the way. Last years game in hand lasted far too long.

Not bad considering our injuries, but hey lets sack Fergie anyway :rolleyes:

No way. As long as it's still there we can pretend it's exactly the same as being 3 points higher in the table, even though we all know it could end up being less.

Better the pretence we're still in the title race than the inevitable reality of another unexciting top four finish. :cool:

Only a few certain muppets are actually serious about the above statement, no need to name them; they're usually the ones who only show their head when united lose.

Once we have our defenders back we will be fine.
