** Weekend Football Thread **

It's fairly common practice in South america, Kia Joorabchian (or MSI) most likely paid a sizeable fee somewhere along the line to aquire the ownership rights to Tevez.

It certainly doesn't seem 'right' when you transfer this model into the european market, but 3rd parties essentially paying the transfer fee is how most of the big money moves happen in Argentina, Brazil etc.

As much as I admire Tevez's battling and workrate, £30m for a player that has one of the worst first touches I've seen at Utd, is a bit tooooo much. Knock the figure down to 20 and it looks more acceptable.

He also, for a striker, doesn't get, or even look like scoring many goals.

Tevez isn't worth £30m, if Arshavin is worth £15m (I think he is just about) then Tevez is worth £10m - £15m imo.

For 15 million tevez would be a half decent buy if he would be happy to sit out over half the games. He isn't though, so you may as well get shot and see what price he goes for and laugh.

Workrate isn't everything.

Don't think i can stand to see us lose, a draw would prolong the agony, its gotta be a win.

Still like 9 hours to go as well :(

What i'd give for Steve McClaren, 13th position and crap football right now.

For all those that called me an idiot for saying Bendtner was good and Ade was crap, he's now almost scored the same, in far less games, while constantly as today being played out of position in losing teams with crap players around him.

I wouldnt call you an idiot for saying Bendtner is good and Ade being bad but I would for you suggesting that Wenger should go in your earlier post.

Ade is just a very lazy looking player, he should be imposing himself more on the game with his size but ends up making lazy runs that get him caught offside for 90% of the game. He will then show one moment of greatness every few games that manages to keep him his spot. Personally I wouldnt be that sad to see him go in the summer.

Yes we arent pulling the weight we should be in the league and 4th is a justified end to our understrengh side.

If our team made it through the whole season without injury we would be laughing but as we have players that are coming close to being two seasons out then that isnt going to happen.

I think with the signing and success of Arshavin the penny has finally dropped and Wenger now understands that we need a few experienced players thrown in there to balance the team out.

Lets just hope that the team stays together and we get that CB, CM and some luck with the injuries for next year.

Someone should convert Tevez into a holding midfielder after the success of Smith's position change.

That's the thing, I don't understand why we don't play Berb, Rooney and Tevez more. I can see Tevez playing quite comfortably in an Anderson/Old Scholes role. Chasing down the ball in midfield and bringing it forward.

Who is we for you?

I might put a cheeky bet on Newcastle to win 3-1

I think this game could throw up something unexpected.. and lets be a honest for us to even win is pretty ridiculous
