Weekend Footy Spoilers

Charlton gave us far too much room today and deserved to lose, although we weren't that impressive, 3 - 0 will do me.

I also had a better look at the seats as well, the back will be easy to remove, so I'll have to take a better look at the seat itself at the Juve match. :D

The problem is that with 7 players still injured, and the teams around us (Bolton/Spurs/Blackburn) maintaining good form as well, time is starting to run out. We only have 8 games left and failing to beat Spurs (not beyond the realms of possibility) could be disasterous. Bolton are out of all the cups now so they can feast upon their two games in hand and pull ahead of us too. Meanwhile our CL run could prove distracting and add even more pressure to the squad on the fitness side of things.

The only positive is that our run-in is considerably easier (in theory) than that of Spurs/Bolton. Hopefully our good form should see us brush aside most of the alsorans and claim 4th spot.

Ironically Spurs play Bolton on the penultimate day of the season. I'd love it if it came down to a situation whereby a Tottenham win would put Arsenal in the champions league for next season! :D

Couple of fantastic goal from Bellamy. Well done Pompey, fantastic result for them. Will Redknapp ever lose his nervous twitches, I know I shouldn’t laugh but its funny :D

He's not as bad as Gordan 'the snipers are everywhere' Strachan

Just listening to spoony on radio 1 and hes getting geared up for the match today. I shall be in the pub watching. looking forward to a good game as long as we don't give a woeful effort like last week.

No real suprises among yesterdays results.
Is it any coincidence that the team widely regarded as the most improved in the Premiership this season is Blackburn ?
A team whose two most significant changes were when Souness left to be replaced by a proper man manager and when that manager then signed Bellamy.
That hurts me.

The Darlington V Carlisle game was a cracker , five nowt to the blues and results going their way to keep them top of the league.
Stadium in an industrial area out of town so a long walk to the ground coupled with woefully inadequate policing made for some good old fashioned aggro before and after the game.
I bet coallition night time patrols in Iraq are less dangerous than the walk back to the station in Darlington.
Magic.
A healthy 8640 attendance bolstered by 6 toon fans with nothing better to do on a saturday made it Darlingtons highest attendance this season.
They generally average around 3500 in a 30,000 seater stadium!!

Today is where it matters though , another 52k sellout for a team that hasnt won a domestic trophy since 1955.
Nowhere else in the country would that happen , im 100% sure of that.
NUFC: Given, Harper, Ramage, Elliott, Babayaro, Bramble, Boumsong, Moore, Parker, Emre, Bowyer, Clark, Dyer, Luque, Ameobi, Pattison, Faye, Chopra, Solano, N'Zogbia, Shearer.

Only 3 injuries now , Owen , Carr and Steve "the power" Taylor.
Moorecelino in the squad for the first time this season , cheers for signing him Graeme , he's been great

I expect only 1 change from last weeks humiliated team - Bramble possibly in for Elliott.

Im glad Fowler broke his duck during the week as I could see him doing it against the registered charity that is NUFC's defence.
Will be a tough game today and I think we will struggle to get something from it.
Im going for an optomistic score draw.
Haway the lads.
