Weekly Playstation Store Update thread

I have just got the Sky Diving game... hmmmmm only played about half an hour not quite enjoying it yet but I will keep trying. The controls are tricky especially as I havent really got another game that takes advantage of six-axis.

Which store did you get this off? I am sure I saw this on HK store last week, but not elsewhere? (weird it came to HK before USA store, but maybe I have missed it on the USA store?)

I feel the same about Wipeout, I found it great when I had a PS1 but I never played it on the PS3/PSP as it is just awful looking, I feel Motorhead will be the same.

I still have it installed on the PC now for sentimental reasons and I feel the PS1 version will be horrible in comparison.

Motorhead was the game that was supersmooth with a 3dfx card in Glide, man I miss that time when game graphics were still exciting.

Can't you download Wipeout 1 via the PS3 and play it on your PSP now ?, I imagine it would look allot better on a smaller screen, has anyone on here done that ?

Yeah, I have done that with about 7 or 8 games. Obviously, as you say, they look much better on the smaller (and more importantly, lower resolution) screen of the ps3. The original resolution of the ps1 games, much closer matches the ps1 default res than the 720P and above that most use for playing the games on ps3.

Castevania: SOTN looks particularly good on PSP I think, as well as Wipeout and Tekken 2 (well actually that looks terrible, but plays well :) ).

Anyone had any luck with Lost Planet from Japan? Just get an error everytime I try to join.

Just managed one game, seems ok nothing special. Horrible lack of AA but the frame rate was consistant atleast. There was no lag either despite a couple of japanese and americans being in the game.

Lost planet is terrible on PS3, no AA at all and really detracts from the nice graphics underneath.

O well, i have completed on xbox anyway so no loss for me.

Yes, but the games do not play full screen on the PSP (or am I missing something), it has black borders around it so it is VERY small compared to a 40" LCD :o

If your playing a PS1 game thats actually on the PSP if you press the Home button while playing and goto options you can adjust the screen width between normal, full screen and zoom. You do get black bars at the top and bottom of the screen in full screen mode still but I assume this is to do with the fact their old PAL games with the big old black borders.

You can't do this though when playing a game remotely as far as I know.

HAd a quick blast on Sky Diving this morning. It seems quite fun and the Six Axis implementation is quite good.

Should have waited, I was gonna get it off the USA store (didn't get time yesterday).

From the videos I have seen it looks like a Pilotwings kind of game, whcih is a good blast in short bursts I reckon.
