I did fruit for breakfast, tuna salad for lunch and meat and veg for dinner.

I ate a bit of rice couple times a week and a square of dark chocolate when I wanted to but I stayed away from all junk food.

I want to lose 2 stone by September...new challenge set, did it once, I can do it again.
Challenge accepted!!! Tbh it should be a doddle with modest effort. A third of a stone a month. My excuse in advance is that work is stressful :D

The first 6lbs I found was dead easy, it’s mostly water, especially if your diet was a high salt junk food diet.

The wall comes at around 12st, my lowest was 11.5st and I’m 5’8.

At this point I couldn’t get any lighter by just dieting and needed exercise which I hate lol I used to walk about 4 miles a day to and come work, now I need to do that recreationally...how absurd :p

Stop eating! You will know when you need food.

I don't eat a lot am 5ft10 and about 9 stone.

If you need food you will know about it, trust me I know. ;)

It can be done but exercise as well. You don't want to eat nothing and feel terrible. You will feel better for eating a bit more and being more active. I dropped from 100+kg to 72 in 14ish months.

Not really a gym guy, just did some free weights, press-ups, pull-ups, dips etc using my bodyweight alongside some cardio. Just being generally active is a huge boost and will help you keep it off. I don't eat as well as I did when I was dropping the weight and don't exercise as much but actually weigh the same after 2 years.

Yeah a lot is water, you can loose a lot in the first month.
That said you will hit a wall, and remember weight isnt everything - your much better being a decent weight and build than a stick insect with now mass to throw about.

You should really post about these things once you've achieved them, opening yourself up to nothing but pain :p

Also the psychological effect is that talking to others about how you're going to do this / that is that it gives you a feel good factor about the things you are "going" to do even though you haven't done anything. Talk about your achievements once you have achieved them and earn that nice warm feeling. ;)
I like to do things ass about face. It's who I am :D Other people can do things properly, that's boring :p

Yeah I'm quietly confident because I've done alternate day fasting before. Did manage to lose a stone in the 1st month, but did hit a wall after that.

Then I got demoralised and let everything slip. This time I will just push through it. If I hit a wall I'll adjust my approach.

Will be good to see what happens in any case.

I did it, but the last stone was in 12 nights in hospital the first 2.5 over 8 months through lifestyle changes. I would recommend the latter, not the former.

tbh.. FoxEye I wouldn't set a specific target like X stone in Y months - if you become really keen to do something like that then you could end up just following some fad diet for just those Y months etc..

Might just be better to make some changes to your diet and lifestyle that you'll stick with not just for Y months but permanently - your goal simply being to continue to lose weight until you're at a healthier weight... whether that takes 5 months or 2 years... so long as you've made the changes - cut down one crap food/started doing more exercises and can see that you're starting to lose weight/get into shape then that's all that counts - you don't need to make things super hard for yourself by fasting or anything like that. Just cutting out excess sugar/reducing junk food etc.. making more meals from scratch and doing a bit more exercise ought to be sufficient.

The sweat or just it's a chore?

9st for a guy? You must be a toothpick? Sebastien Vettel is 10st something and he is kind of bordering on toothpick but not quite. He's really thin compared to Lewis.

BMI of just over 18 and an average IQ of 130, I think am doing well.

What overweight people seem to forget is gravity, bigger mass more weight and strain on your organs and muscles.

You can exercise all day to fight gravity, which is what you are doing in manner of sense. But at the end of the day gravity always wins. ;)

Dont skimp on the exercise, it provides a motivations (and hormones) to help you deal with the cravings and inevitable wall.

I lost ~10kg in 6 months two years ago then stopped dietting and I haven't gained it back again since the exercise allows me to eat what I want.

Dont go to the gym though, run outdoors, cycle, climb... something more interesting and less fat-shaming than the gym. 2 years ago I could barely run 100M without getting out of breath, this year I have planned my first half marathon. I assure you, if I can do it then so can you.

I lost 4 stone in 4 to 5 months

I basically stopped eating fast food, anything with sugar in it ,anything carb laden and I only eat between an 8hr period , I also aimed for between 1000 to 1500 kcal a day

Typical meals consist of a fresh meat or fish with green veg, eggs, Greek yoghurt

For example Yesterday I had chicken breast wrapped in smoked bacon with asparagus, day before I had rib eye steak with broccoli mashed with butter and chilli flakes

I’ll have a little bit of a treat every couple of weeks but I don’t go overboard

As a side effect my body is in ketosis but I wasn’t really aiming for that, it just comes naturally with eating more fat and less carbs

Ps agree with above, get out and do some exercise , most weight loss can be achieved through your diet but getting out and active is good too

I like to go for walks in the fells once a week , just for an hour or so and something with a decent incline , in spring I’ll do a few bike rides too
