Well this looks awesome!.. Asus Eee Transformer Tablet

Ok cool, another question, has anyone confirmed spotify is working on the transformer?

It installs and runs OK but it says you need a premium account to use it on a mobile device, I only have a normal account so cant test it any further.

Ok wicked, I've got a premium account so no problems there, just checking it really as I use spotify mobile all the time.

Popped into the space rock place and they said they were going to get a delivery on the 28th April so I put an order in to be delivered on the 30th.

Popped into the purple place and asked for availability on this "Asus Transformer", 5 minutes later, a lady brings out a box for a Acer Iconia...

Managed to get one ordered in Carphone Warehouse this morning, only 2 left in the warehouse! Should be able to pick it up tomorrow. Does anyone know what price the keyboard will be once it is released on its own? Trying to work out if it's worth going for the deal ASUS has on at the moment.

Go with the £54 from Asus, RRP will be more I can guarantee.

I've just got the PDF invoice for the keyboard from ASUS. Is it just me, but sending £54 to a bank account seems a little odd. Why couldn't they have a special webpage on their site where a unique code from the PDF could be entered? Or don't ASUS have a buying/checkout system in place for buying from them directly? It seems strange to buy from a large company paying directly into a bank account! :D

That is what I am worried about, but don't really want to buy the pad without the keyboard and miss this offer because probably the keyboard will cost way more at a later date. I'm a bit torn now, might cancel my order and wait.

I'm sure it is fine, just a little strange, thats all.

Anyone else having a lot of light leakage? If I watch a movie (or dark screen) in a pitch dark room and there is leakage all around the screen edges except the top edge. Now, it isn't exactly a showstopper, but it is does bother me when watching movies (not during general browsing when it can't be seen)

Other than that, I'm loving it. I just don't know whether to contact Comet, or ASUS or simply to let it slide.

What are you worried about? You think someone has gone to the trouble of hacking Asus UK's twitter account and email server to set up an elaborate scam to get £54 to their bank account from a few people who were early adopters of Eee Pad Transformers? Come on... :D

Woo just got a call to says mines is in for collection, will grab it on way home from work and will be straight onto asus for the keyboard.

I have another on pre order but will cancel tonight, asus updated on UK stock today so there should be a lot more on offer soon

Initial demand for the Eee Pad Transformer has been far beyond our
expectations, and following the on-sale date (6thApril 2011) the first
batches delivered to the UK have entirely sold out. Please accept our
sincere apologies for the difficulties regarding stock availability with our
retail partners.

ASUS always strives to set benchmarks for product innovation, design and
quality. We have implemented a number of additional testing procedures
for the Eee Pad Transformer to ensure an unrivalled user-experience. This
has resulted in delays to a number of shipments to the UK. We are now
due to receive a significant quantity of both Eee Pad Transformers and
keyboard docks at the end of April/early May (exact date will depend on
customs clearance and freight forwarding to our retailers). We are working
hard to increase both the number of demonstration models on display and
also general stock availability within retailers throughout the UK

I had linked to pdf but it contains comps

That is what I am worried about....

Im pretty sure ASUS would have been quick to say if this was a scam unrelated to them

Oh and a mate made some checks, theres 4 instock at the rock in Aberdeen

I have a small amount of bleeding, not bothered about that it's pretty common. I've had it on all my monitors.

I do however have a stuck white lit pixel or sub pixel next to the back icon on the task bar. I can only see it at a few angles mind. Annoyingly its "ok" under Asus pixel policy ggrrr lol

Thats the thing - Maybe I could swap mine (if there is any stock) but aside from the backlighting issues (which is relatively bad under certain conditions) the screen is great. I'd swap and get 5 stuck pixels knowing my luck! :)

As you say that IS the thing. The next one you get may be worse lol.

So I'm sticking with mine me thinks. As the screen res is high and thus the pixel density is high you can't really see it. (he says trying to convince himself)

If anyone is looking for a USB extension cable, I picked up a USB 3 cable and it powers the device fine, it did not when I was using a USB 2 extension cable, just thought I would let you know as the length of the supplied charger was an issue for me, but not any longer with a USB 3 extension cable :)
