US: Westworld

The only way you can imagine it going is outside of WW? I'm reasonably sure it will all still be within WW... or the other 'Worlds' they've hinted towards.

The black chick didn't escape. She came back in. I thought that was a rather key plot point?

Did she go back in hmm I thought she escaped, its been awhile since I saw the last episode so I might remember it wrong.

Also yeah about WW, I'd figure it's been done and they can explore other worlds now.

Just seen it. Bit boring and more time differences stuff again. Also really really slow to tell the story. Bit disappointed.

What did others think?

Didn’t think it was slow or boring, thought it was well paced and good start to the season. The last thing I want is for it to become some fast paced action filled show.

That was 75 minutes of pure awesome! I'm glad they're throwing in some longer episodes as i am loving every single minute of this show. The score, casting, cinematography, acting, writing... all top quality down to the very last detail. Can't wait to see more.

Sums it up nicely for me as well. Think i'll have to watch it again as I had just driven 7 1/2 hours back from Scotland so wasn't fully with it and I missed a few things such as:

The floating host they focused on at the end of the episode being Teddy
However I thoroughly enjoyed it, so glad it's back and can't wait to see where it goes.

+ 1

So hyped that Westworld is back, as you said top quality down to the very last detail. A few thoughts / theories on E01:

- This isn't the first time Bernard woke up on that beach, Delos are looping him to try and discover what happened (They don't offer him any aid / water etc after being on a beach for weeks, he see's the executions but also seems to flashback to seeing them before and he finishes the "less than ideal circumstances" sentence

- In Bernard's flashbacks / corruption there is a new body being printed. Is this replacement for his damaged self or for someone else?

- Theres also a lot of focus on "brain" extraction in that episode. If they can transfer their minds, what if it's not even Bernard's mind that wakes up on the beach?

- Delos taking DNA from the guests in the park, allowing them to replicate people as hosts and potentially be able to replace them in society, under their control

- Apparently the hosts don't need oxygen, so I'm assuming they didn't drown in the lake. Why put them there in that case? Or are they the old host bodies and they made themselves new ones without kill switches

I wasn't as enamoured with this episode as I was the first episode of S1, I thought it was a bit slow to start but that was always likely due to the need to setup the new timelines and to transition into the new set of stories. Overall I saw enough to give me encouragement that they're going in an interesting direction so I'm looking forward to more.

So, the reveals of Ep1 - two (or more timelines) again (two Bernards, two Teddy's), the "little Robert" guide host glitching and changing to voice of old Robert, introduction of "host brain transplant" device, the actress playing missing Elsie last season is on the cast list. Good start.

This sums up how I felt. It was a long episode and for a while I thought it was just going to be a boring action flick this season, but they gradually brought the intrigue back and by the end of the episode I just want to watch the next.

Nothing quite like watching a Westworld episode and seeing people spend the next week trying to work out what everything means.

Good start back and it makes you wonder if they know Bernard is a host.
