US: Westworld

Enjoyed the change of pace with last nights episode wouldn't want the whole series like that though so hopefully it was the calm before the storm for the next 2 :)

I don't think we needed a whole episode explaining Ake's backstory - it looked beautiful, but became a bit of a snoozefest. Also reminded me of TWD - let's pad/fill, something which WW hasn't needed to do in the past.

Also, i don't understand how Ake could have stayed in the lab, eyes open whilst pretending to be in the "freeze all motor functions" mode, and then wander around the complex without been seen.

ETA: the part where Ake meets Ford and and he is put into Analysis mode. Ake was very emotive in his responses, something not seen before with hosts. What was the meaning behind this?

I thought it was a great episode. After all we've seen so far, I trust the writers know what they are doing by having an episode which to many just seems like filler.

Not sure what Ake's responses during analysis mode mean in regard to him replying less robotically, but I did think it rather convenient that those who left him in the chair moments before he went walkabout were nowhere to be seen. It was like everyone went for lunch break.

didnt they say his update would take 10 hours? then left because they didn't want to wait around

4 hours. Yes I understand they didn't want to wait, but when the three technicians were talking about him, you could see other people in the other areas in the background. They gave him the update, then left. Everyone else conveniently decided to leave at the same time.

This was my issue with the episode. It felt like they could have told the same story in half an episode (by giving us another story entwined throughout).

We haven’t seen Delores since they left the Mesa hub, so a few scenes of what her and killer Teddy are doing would have been fine.

They could have told it in 15 minutes tbf, but there is something to be said sometimes of telling a story in greater detail and letting the audience ingest it over a longer period of time. Kinda has a greater impact, and it's a thing most TV shows/movies have lost now. I have trust in a Nolan sister :)

It was one of the best episodes of the season for me.

Yes they were talking to each other but using her daughter as a conduit, when he was speaking to the daughter directly he used English and not Lokota.

Only one left. I need something that will knock me out for a week as the anticipation is freaking killing me right now!

The build up was real in this episode, they've teased several times in the past regarding some of the scenes that happened in this episode and for not much in the way of action happening compared to previous episodes the story telling was one of the better episodes,

Wonder how it will all come together in the finale.

I thought Episode 9 was cracking. Loved the end scene with Delores and Teddy but it was overshadowed by Will and Ellie

90 mins for the finale. Can't wait.
