What a **** (Delivery Driver)

Send a poo to your own letterbox via dpd.
Don't aaccept delivery.
Driver has to carry a poo around in his van for several days!
When poo gets returned to sender also don't aaccept delivery.

Creates a perpetual poo in dpds system

I immediately opened the door and asked what was going on and he said he had tried twice knocking and ringing the bell. I said you didn't because I've watched you from when you pulled up so I could help you.
Was he your regular DPD driver? What was his response to your comments? Did you get your parcel?

I work at home a lot.

Often I order stuff from Amazon and when delivery comes, I make sure I don't have my headset on both ears.

My office is above the front door. When I get a delivery, I have to run downstairs to get to the guy before he drives off. I have counted, it takes me 7 seconds to get from my office seat to the front door. more often than not, I open the door to see the guy trying to either deliver to a neighbour or getting in his van.

7 ******** seconds.

Really annoying but I would imagine that the pressure these guys are on is down to why we can get stuff delivered so cheap/free for little to nothing.

it really grinds my gears.

I'm curious, when you opened the door and challenged him, what were your expectations? were you expecting the chap to go 'fair cop guv'nor, the boxes were too heavy and I couldn't be arsed hauling them all the way up here'??

in regards what to do, would it sit easy on your conscience getting the chap the sack because he couldn't be bothered to deliver your parcels?
should your complaint be with dpd, perhaps it's the pressures forced upon their drivers that make them make these decisions in order to take home a respectable pay check each week/month?
or should you just go **** it, I got my stuff, life goes on.

It's annoying when you wait in at the time DPD tell you they'll deliver your item only to get a post through your door because they couldn't be bothered to actually knock or ring the bell. I've had it before where I heard the slip come through the door and I chased the Royal Mail guy down the road and he looked furious I made him do his job and give me my parcel.

At the same time, why is it acceptable for the driver to not actually do his job?
did I say it was acceptable?

He's paid to do a job. He didn't do his job. Not sexygreys problem.
I never said it was sexygreys problem. I asked a couple questions.

Yes, 100% Yes.
you wouldn't cut them some slack and think maybe there's a reason they apparently can't be bothered delivering my parcel? (yes I missed the word 'apparently' out in my original post. )
you'd just jump straight in to getting them the sack?

Hmmm...a delivery driver doesn't want to delivery item and that's ok is it? lol
where did I say it was ok? 'lol'

He is hardly going to get sacked unless this is something he has done a few times before and had disciplinary because of this, so of course you should report him. For a while around my way the Royal Mail were just sticking 'Sorry we missed you' cards through the door and sometimes not even them and not just on the odd occasion. Turned out the guy consorting (great word) with a lady of his acquaintance which meant he did not have the time for his delivery duties.
Why should this guy get away with not doing the job he is paid to do?

he probably wouldn't get fired, but would get a disciplinary...

I say you should report it.. we should all expect high standards from people being paid (by us) to do a job. Even though OCUK do free delivery for forum members, a percentage of the price you pay will still go towards the DPD contract.

Got an email from amazon about an attempted delivery, the email came through as I was sitting watching the TV in the front room, with full view to the outside, no attempt to deliver ever occured, can only assume the delivery guy wanted to knock off early for the day even though it was a prime delivery which supposedly goes up to 8pm. Amazon couldn't have cared any less, just said I'd get it tomorrow, didn't seem to grasp the fact that I was telling them that their delivery driver was lying to them and no-one had attempted to deliver anything to me. Luckily was in the free trial for prime which was promptly cancelled as I'm not going to pay for a service to be lied to.

Don't understand why he took the effort to drive to your address and just deliver a note, it's not like he saved any time, he must really hate interacting with people. :D

Guess they get paid for doing drops which are presumably tracked. So if the drop is unsuccessful (carded, recipient not in etc.) they still get the cash.

Be careful, if you get him fired he knows where you live.

He would probably just leave you an angry note though.
