Hi, got my Biostar X370 GT7 up and running pretty painlessly considering. Kept all my drives from my last system and the same Windows 10Pro booted straight into windows after what seemed an eternity before the post screen completed the post. My R7 1700 was running at stock and my 2X8GB Team Dark Gaming DDR4 3000Mhz was at 2133Mhz. Updated to the latest bios, 14/3/17(disappointing) and I can get 2667Mhz(also disappointing) now. Tried 2993Mhz but black screened, hopefully a new bios will fix. This board has 14 phase with Digi+ and seems well made with lots of extras. Biggest thing for me is it has dual bios as I was worried about messing up but alls good. Shame Ocuk aren't stocking this as I see their sister site in Germany is. I got this elsewhere at £179.99 Del and I think its a bit of a steal. Been running it all day and temps seem great, 26/27c idling on desktop, ran one of the cpu-z benchmarks and temp peaked at 39c with fans on quiet setting, so all good so far.

Update: Tried XMP memory setting and its running at 2933Mhz, Yay.

So whats the go to board for approx £200 max budget please?

I've been burned by Asus too many times with their ROG boards so was thinking of going back to good 'ol reliable MSI.

Have all the issues with memory speeds etc been ironed out now? - Don't fancy buying a board now to find a newer revision is on the way!

Found this by br0da on the forums at www.hardwareluxx.de, he has posted a table of the mosfets/vrm's for AM4 B350 & X370 motherboards, should hopefully help peeps to fine tune what they are looking in there selection... (apologies if already posted didn't show up in search)

You my sir, are a star. This was exactly what i was waiting for.

im really struggling to choose a board. ASRock Fatal1ty X370 Gaming K4 or MSI x370 gaming carbon. i watched a review of the asrock board on youtube by techdeals and he pretty much said both boards are the same but i cant help notice that most people are going for the k4. Am i missing something here? is there better bios updates for the k4?

I would avoid MSI boards. They have pretty much stopped giving out beta bioses and are way behind everyone else.

Is stopping people downloading Beta bios a bad idea really, especially at the moment where Ryzen is in a constant state of change.

As for MSI been behind, not so sure about that, their motherboards supported higher speeds of Ram before most of the other brands.

I think this will help make your decision easier...

Finally got my Msi b350m mortar motherboard yesterday, I got fed up with all the computer shops in the UK telling me, maybe next week, maybe next week, it's all I've heard for 6 weeks, so found a big shop in Germany who had them in stock and had one shipped over to me by DHL, took 3 working days, flashed the bios twice with the latest bioses available, so up to 1.1 then to 1.2 before setting up.

All I can say about it is wow, kicks ass compared to the gigabyte AB350M gaming 3 board I was using before, the bios itself is so much more feature rich, from simple things like being able to disable the onboard audio, to other features like load line calibration, and that's just to list a few extras, all of which the gigabyte board didn't have, I'll be keeping this board for sometime.

Got windows and all of my software installed on it last night, Overclocking starts tonight, I'll see how far I can get the ram on this board, the gigabyte board is going on ebay.

Don't quite understand why the UK is struggling so hard to get these boards in, most of Europe has them or have had them and are now out of stock.

Don't know who told you this, but the gigabyte AB350M gaming 3 motherboard has had no bios updates to date, pile of rubbish, still on a very buggy first release, msi are way in front, my post above this one explains that.

I think there's a few beta bios out for the b350 , have yo check mother board section. Link is to US gigabyte forum and reps checking user feedback on the betas

I got the B350 Tomohawk Arctic, was advised to stay away but after reading reviews the Tomahawk had the best rating and praise. The only people who were rating bad were because DOA or Bios but every motherboard had and msi gave out the most frequent at first till motherboards got bricked.

So it's fair they wanted time to get the quality up and keep thier standards up not just dropping bios that could cause damage. Plus it's not difficult running slightly slower for a week or two. Altogether I'm happy as don't like most motherboard designs but the arctic is lovely and not so depressing to look at with a black case :). In the long run I'm very happy, would have liked a X370 but wanted white MOBO. X370 too expensive E.G The Titanium.

Glad to hear that everywhere else I hear moaning and it put me off but after looking into what the issues were and why I'm very glad I went with too.

LOL sod's law, they kept sending me versions of F3, so dont know what happened to that, although I just had a look at that bios update, it only updates CPU microcode, nothing for stability or ram.
That Microcode is exactly how motherboards are getting better ram speeds, it's not a small fix.
