What book are you reading...

I have several books on the go here - The Enders Game series, first book of the Malazan series, and working my way through the last few books of Sharpe.

Read Enders Games last week, and sicne then have read Speaker for the Dead and Investment Councilor. Enders Game left me feeling quite depressed at the end, I assume due to knowing that humanity is capable of the huge amount of deception involved. Orson Scott Card is a fantastic writer however, something I came to realise even more with finishing Speaker for the Dead. About to start Xenocide now.

Sounded pretty good, so I purchased it. Must have missed out on the deal, as it was £3.99

79% through Game of Thrones now, and can't wait to be shot of it. Watching the series first totally killed any ambition for reading it. So definitely going to make sure I read the 2nd book before I carry on watching the tv show.

On a side note, my Kindle syncing doesn't really work properly. Syncing on the actual Kindle device is fine, but if I use my iPhone I have to force it to sync to get the last read page. When I finish reading on the iPhone my Kindle doesn't seem to get updated with the new "last read page". So I have to manually find where I left off. Am I missing some kind of setting on the kindle app on my phone?

Still showing as £1.99 for me. Maybe you're looking at the kindle version?

Ah yes, sorry I thought you were talking about the Kindle version for some reason. Wish I brought the paperback version now, seems a bit off having the digital version for a lot more.

Only thing I can think of is do you have some kind of app that switches your data on and off on your iPhone so maybe when your Kindle app is running it isn't syncing when you stop reading ?

Otherwise every now and then I'll have to force-sync the Kindle, normally if I still have the book open on the Kindle but press Menu and there should be a 'Sync to Last Page Read' option which brings me up to date.

Finally completed Game of Thrones at the weekend. Starting on Clash of Kings (book 2) yesterday. Finding it a lot easier to read, as I haven't watched the TV series for season 2 yet!

Currently reading A Song of Ice & Fire: A Storm of Swords - 2: Blood & Gold

Loving it so far! Starting to use the maps as well in the front of the book & following all their stories, makes things so much easier to follow :D

Im trying to get through Catcher in the Rye but not enjoying it at all, haven't picked it up in a few days.

In the interest of balance for the other comments I really enjoyed this book. Yes there's all the stigma of it being a classic and a must read but I just found it to be an interesting story following a few days of a teenager.

2/3's of the way through A Game of Thrones. I have A Clash of kings waiting, but I can't decided whether I should read something else in between or just crack straight on.

Crack straight on, their awesome books. Im currently reading A Storm Of Swords 1: Steel And Snow. Im only about 100 pages in, but i can just tell something epic will happen:D

After reading "The world according to Clarkson" I bought his second sequel book to this, pure hilarious. :D

I also bought and currently reading "Stephen Hawking - A brief history in time" and "Wonders of the Universe - Brian Cox".

Not enjoying Clash of Kings much. I'm 13% of the way through, but it just seems like there's nothing actually happening. Too much politics and dialogue, need some action!
I'll carry on reading so that I can watch the TV series, but I'm tempted to stop after this book.

I probably will I reckon. My only thinking for reading something else is I have a small backlog of other books that I want to read but if I read all of the ASoIaF in a row it will be a while before I get round to them :p
