I only want this car for the simple job of getting me around warmer and drier than on the bike, thats it. My dad has told me about this car coming in to work and I have been given it for my 18th birthday :D I should have passed my test by then anyway so I can get it on the roads as soon as I pass.

I am sure I will get mocked for it but its perfect for what I want,
Its a 3dr
Its Silver
It has a 1.2
and is an SXi

yep, you guessed it, its a corsa :)

Sorry, it was taken on my phone so naff quality

It just needs a good clean and thats it, its mechanically sound. 53,000 on the clock.

Any guesses as to how much my family have paid in total for it for me?

Looks nice for a first car Grats :-)

P.S please say it's not an auto, please say it's not an auto (goes off mumbleing)

Edit: £1901.04

Morba is closest, so this doesnt become a bit of a spamfest, its £2600

oh, the gears....its a manual, dont worry about that :)

the auto box's in those are all semis arent they?
tbh they are fun little gearboxs imo

£2.6k isnt that bad i suppose, atleast you didnt pay £9k for one :P

Considering all that car will do is ferry you around when the weather is wet, and you have the bike for speed thrills, then as far as cars go, its perfect for your needs, even more so because its free.

With it being an SXi and with you being only 18, won't the insurance be a little excessive?

Wish I could afford a Corsa SXi, nice car, screw what everyone else says :p

I am shopping for insurance now, I have £1000 bike insurance in june so I am hoping its less than £1500 ideally.

Who have people found to be the cheapest insurers for young lads? The bike licence will help bring the insurnace down a bit anyway, and I am waiting until I am 18, that makes quite a difference just that extra year of maturity.

You must be getting confused with the SRi, the SXi is just a trim level. Its a 1.2.

m8 i wouldnt have then "i should have passed my test by then" attitude, it didnt do me any favours

good luck though

I know i made that mistake with my theory first time round as I have already done it and passed once before.

I can get 3 tests in before june, i will just really practice and hope for the best. Its not the end of the world as I am still mobile, i am going to have to wait until i am 18 nto get insurance anyway.

it did for me! had my scooby sat waiting for me to pass just after I turned 17 :D

ive had my car waiting for about 3 years :D

im just saying its not a good idea to get complacent, you never know what might happen

luke have you passed your theory yet? if so then just get it out of the way so you can do the real test ;)

Welcome to the Corsa club (not liked around here but getting popular for the wrong reasons :p)

£2600 is a very good price for a 51-reg 1.2 SXi with only 53k miles (depends on condition too, hope you got A/C on yours). Once you passed your test and finish waxing the car, first thing on your shopping list is new alloys, such as Irmscher Signa alloys :)

SXi and SRi insurance hardly differ at all. The only one that will kill it is the 1.8 SRi. 1.4 SRi is in the same group as a 1.4 SXi.

Thanks for that, but if the first quote I got is anything to go by then I am screwed! £2600 for TPFT cover :(

I am sure I can get it down, not really tried yet, but as for alloys etc I dont think I will be able to afford them, as well as insure and run a 600cc sportsbike and still be 17.

£2,750!

my driving instructor uses one of these but its a 5 door.

Great first car though! :D

tbh vauxhall cars never appealed to me :o
