What country would you move to, if you had the opportunity?

I'm surprised so many people say Japan, it's apparently a country full of people like Chris Wilson.
Me too. It’s one of the hardest countries for foreigners to integrate into and even if you were to learn the language and get a decent job the working conditions are tough.

The 90s England.

Or, er, um. Dunno.

Lots of countries are nice, but would i like to live there? Canada is a good answer for me, but the winters are brutal. New Zealand i'd consider as a gamble as i've not been there. Anywhere in Europe, nah. Asia definitely not.

If my life were different and weather didn't ruin my interests, also i wasn't a picky eater i'd be more keen :p

It wasn't when I visited 10 years ago but I always liked the Japanese culture since I have been a child. Playing all those imported Jap games on my modded PS1 :D

Visiting is different to living there. Mainly the older generation, but then I doubt CW is a young person so the point still stands.

Not seen you mention that before.

The weather in the Netherlands is even more dreary and dismal than the UK, and the tax rates are significantly higher. Just worth bearing in mind.
Always, planning to move there. London is a complete dump of a city

Yeah....that applies to every country in the world.

My point is I saw not one person who looked like the guy from visiting. Still full of Japanese people.

France. Oh wait, we did that in 2018.

Went from NE London with 5,500 people per square km to rural SW France with 30 people per square km.

Haven‘t regretted it for a moment.
I love France, go there on holiday with the family every year. Such variety of experiences available there...not many countries have brilliant skiing and brilliant surfing within a relatively short distance.

And the food, wine, weather are all great. Even the French themselves are generally friendly and warm.

I think someone needs to invent some kind of international exchange programme for workers / working families so we can easily visit and try these places out while being a productive contributor, rather than having to jump through months of bureaucray, sometimes unsuccessfully, before you can do it.

I'm going to draft up a pact / international treaty for consideration at the next UN assembly. Should be top billing.

How about freedom of movement if you can prove that you can fund your lifestyle?

And Amsterdam is much less of a dump, in places?

These types of threads make me laugh.
I regard London as a lost city, not so cosmopolitan as people think. I find it a very dirty city, very poor attitude, services way below minimum requirements. Yet expect to charge premium, truly substandard services.

The roads are total nightmare, the city is pretty much approaching 3rd world in city standards.

Nightlife in London is pretty much dead compared to 15 years ago.
London is not what it used to be, and yes, I cannot wait to leave once I tie up some lose ends.
