What did you do to your bike today?

I paid that for my first year of riding, well, a little less, £825 I think, comprehensive.

2nd year with 1 year ncb is £400 and that's with no voluntary excess.

I have been riding over 6yrs and have many years no claims. My 675R was only 400 quid. The s1000 is just mental in terms of insurance.

Looking for insurance to get a new bike.

Was considering an R6 til I saw it would it be £1800 to insure.

Then I looked at ZX6R's and ER6N's just for comparison and surprisingly they both return the same results below.. Although the first result does not seem legit at all :p

GSX650F were around the £1100 mark for insurance which was quite tempting!

Had a really nice ride before lunch. Good weather, dry roads and not too many Sunday drivers :)

Came back to dinner cooked. Marvellous!

Wickedquotes are legit. Careful though, do you want to fork out £7-800 if you ever needed to pay excess on the policy?

Really? How?! Haha, the next few cheapest quotes also have ridiculous excess too, so if they really are legit I just might go with them :p

Got my eyes set on a nice 06 ER-6N with ABS (should be interesting!), will be going on Saturday to take a look and hopefully ride home with it.

Even if I do save that £4-500 going with wickedquotes, I'd probably spend it on new gear :p

That excess is mental. Talk to them about it. I'm sure you can get it down £3-400 at least.

I'd say the excess is worth it, based on the difference in the price of the policy. £200 is crazy. Are you sure that's the same for a ZX6R too?

Paying over £1400 FC in my first year back on 2 wheels :/

140 miles today with the 675 owners club, it was awesome.

First time I had riden the new bike properly... thing is an animal.

I was with Wicked Quotes for about 2 years on my SV, good company.

Sounds good then.

Perhaps a long shot, but I don't suppose you know if they require the certificate of 33 bhp restriction before they insure the bike?
That's the only thing that'll throw a spanner in the works.

No, my SV was restricted and they needed nothing.

Whilst I was restricted on my SV they were the cheapest by far. However, once I stepped up to the ZX6R, they couldn't quite beat others. I don't think supersports bikes are their market.

3 months, 3,000 miles! I've done a lot of miles on the bike. Considering it's over the crappy winter period as well, I've not had to 'fix' anything, a couple of mods to my liking, but nothing has needed to be fixed. I want to change the oil soon but sadly I don't have the time at the moment, so that will have to wait another month.

But yea, nothing has been done to it, it's running perfectly well!

Just fancied telling everyone that as I know the Multistrada 1200S has received some questions on here.

The 1 thing I would change from absolute default is the screen. Mine came with the MRA touring screen, compared to the original, it's heaven.

I've kept the bike in pristine condition (to my eyes) considering I'm riding through some serious salt every day and using the pressure washer to take most of the grit off at the weekend. Nothing has rusted and I'm treating the bike using ACF 50 with a paint gun from a compressor so all nooks and crannied are properly treated.

My chain has not needed to be adjusted much, if it needs it, it's an absolute peice of cake, specially with the measuring tool supplied with the bike, takes me 2 minutes to adjust the chain perfectly (2 large bolts to undue with an allen key, use C spanner provided to move the hub to tighten/loosen chain, tighten bolts back up. Done).

I have a seriously extensive list of 'jobs' to do to the bike, tiny tweaks and adjustments, but that's just me. Silly things like placing plugs in the holes where the centre stand would mount as I've removed it, placing clear protective laminate on the frame where my ankle sits as my feet have rubbed a little removing a tiny amount of paint (my fault for the way I sit).

But, in general, this is my priority list:

GPS - I've had to wedge my phone near the dash for navigation twice, and went around Gent in Belgium with my Nexus 7 on top of my tank loosely, riding at 5mph trying to navigate out of their one way system. I think for a touring bike, it's a MUST. Yet to decide on one.

Better brakes - The brakes on the Multi would probably seem fine to most, but coming from mono block Brembos on the 1098S, I want the same stopping power. I've had a couple of occasions where I'm pulling on the front brake and thinking "huh... I should be stopped by now". Which is a worry for when it comes to summer time. But this could just be me riding like a nut job.

Louder exhaust, why not?

In summary, I'm over the moon with the purchase, it's rekindled my biking career, after the flop of the Ducati 1098S, I figured it was simply me just not enjoying biking anymore, and after having a break away. I think the Multi was the perfect opportunity. Sure it's not a taught, tight, sports killing machine. But it's more than capable of being just as fast on the road, but infinitely more comfortable on longer runs.

Glad you enjoying it mate. My mate came out yesterday on his brand new 899 and it broke down lol. The bolt holding the gear selector on rattled it's way out which then of course renders the bike completely useless. Ops!

^_^ Sounds dangerous! Glad you're enjoying the bike though.

I don't know if it's them cutting costs and not using locktite... But yea, my 1098S did the same, the 748 was fine though.

Did my first full flush of the radiator and pump, filled with fresh coolant just as it started to pour with rain!.. joys of not having a garage :(

I managed to somehow get a small bit of copper grease in the coolant....will this affect anything?
