It's an 06! Was considering a few other (newer) bikes but this has ABS and was fairly decently priced..

Initially I took the bike for a quick test ride, tested brakes, clutch, gears etc..

Then half way riding home I discovered the rear brake isn't working (was definitely working when I had it on the test ride).. Can push the foot lever down and it comes back up by itself, but there's no brake light or any sign of the rear brake working.

Was dark so I couldn't see if there's any problem at the caliper end, will do that when I get back from work, but even if that were the issue, surely the brake light should still work :confused: probably why it was a bit cheap :p

Oh well, off to Kawasaki dealer tomorrow to get some leathers, will get them to see what's wrong/how much.. If it's a problem with the ABS or something very expensive reckon I could live without a rear brake!! :p

I managed to somehow get a small bit of copper grease in the coolant....will this affect anything?

Depends how much, shouldn't be much of an issue. If it was like a spec, I wouldn't worry about it. If a lot (like more than a pea sized amount), it could clog up part of the rad. Other than that, I really wouldn't worry about it.

Today I rode my 125 to bike school, got on their bike went to test centre, took and passed Mod 2 :D

Was this ER6 from Oxford by any chance? I was looking at literally the exact same bike on ebay :p Looks a nice bike, enjoy :p Still in my watched list :p

Yep it was from Oxford :)

Following on with the brake problem.. Turns out rear master cylinder is broke. Could've been worse (ABS) so I don't mind too much.


Bought an RST Paragon Jacket & RST Ventilator Textile Jeans whilst I was waiting for bike to be sorted. New lid, boots, gloves and camera can wait til next payday I think :D

picked it up as wind blew it over (large double cover acted like a sail ) Not much damage (scuffing on read plastics)

Gave it a wipe down with a as50 rag .. started it and run it round the block and then parked it closer to the house so it does not happen again.
 
Picked this up on the weekend :D

For those of you who know these exhausts will know they are as rare as rocking horse doo doo! So couldn't pass up this opportunity, even if it has been made into a stubby after previous owner crash damage, also got some Micron Serpent race headers with it, both for a very cheap price, so always got the option to re-sleave the exhaust if I don't fancy it so small, for now thought got some new header gaskets on the way and I will see how it sounds this weekend :D

Indeed, they are very rare ! will sound awesome mate. You going to try and clean it up a bit first?

EDIT: Are running a PC already? or planning to get it remap'd? They can remap the std ECU i believe on the gixers.
 
Yes planning on giving it a good clean up, maybe get a new hanger if that ones fubar, and probably get a new rivet band even if I keep it stubby as cant stand the scuffed look :p

I have a PC currently but its not mapped, I am going to go for the bazzaz unit I think though, so need to sell on the PC3.
 
Ran out of fuel 1 mile from petrol station, had to push until some hero saved me a drove me there and back!!

Then I had my first full on experience of Rain, winds n zero visibility from a2,m2 n m25. I must say it was awesome fun :-D

Got back to my home town n noticed smoke coming from my radiator.... Then came the very noisy tractor sounds... I think iv blown a hole in the exhausts... Sounds like it's from the down pipes :-(
