What did you do to your bike today?

did bike safe today, but it wasn't with police instructors for the ride but civilian IAM ones.

seemed a bit meh tbh.

also am i right or is the IAM guy right here.

I've always been told when coming into a corner gears rev matching as you go, , some light breaking on the way in to shift weight to the front wheel, and throttle closed (or close to it) to keep suspension compressed as you turn in then accelerate hard on the way out.

IAM instructor told me this was ******** (his words) and said you should be down to speed before the corner (not breaking just engine breaking) then you should be accelerating as you enter the corner as this "keeps the bike stable" to me this just equals no weight on the front bike running wide and feeling awful.

he said throttling off as you go into the corner will make the bike "stand up"

No idea which is right, but i do the same as you. I wouldn't let some IAM guy tell me otherwise, you do what works best for you in my opinion.

Each to their own.

I kind-of see what he's getting at, you ought to be getting your speed down early and applying light throttle to keep a steady speed. It all depends on the situation really - if the corner tightens then you can go in with light braking, if it widens out then ease on the throttle - the key is to keep it smooth to avoid sudden weight transfer. The last part is total BS though.

just ride through the corner as fast as you can, theres no right or wrong way to do it,you either bin it or not

it just comes with experience, most those training guys are up their own arse anyway,

went for a ride over cmc bikes today over Cannock, chap was just about to get into debt on a 2013 white triumph speed triple,i have to admit they are growing on me,but I think they are a 1050cc? id want something smaller for everyday use

Brake before corner, neutral to apex, accelerate out... I've had all the engine braking taken out of my bike now, much nicer

For just £5 per week, you can help to end the suffering of bikes like this Honda. Everyday more bikes suffer at the hands of mechanically inept baboons lacking any sense of style or taste, and we need your help to stop this. You donation will help our team track down the perpetrators of these heinous crimes, and to apply the therapy that allows the abusive owners to understand what they have done*
