What did you do to your bike today?

Are you saying the engine just cut out when you hit 84mph and then you had to restart it? Speed restrictors don't do this, they just reduce engine power at the limiter so the bike simply stops accelerating.

Yeah, I hit 84mph and started slowing down as I caught up to the group as they lost me on a bigger roundabout since there was an oncoming car. The bike just lost power like it turned off when I started slowing down and sat upright. I did lay down on the bike whilst accelerating as I'm quite tall and it only hits 68mph when I sit upright.

Like I said, I had a go on my mates duke 125 and then mine when we stopped for a break. It didn't feel like it lost power, on the way back everything was fine and nothing seems off. It was just a one time really, it could have been a bump which I hit and the fuel cut off? Not sure, I was quite furious when this happened and don't remember much. :(

Edit:

Any tyre recommendations?

Ok first off, your top speed sounds correct as these are rated at 15bhp and around 75mph.
Your speedo will be out so it's all good there, and as with all bikes you will have to get your head down to get the last 5 or so out of it:)

For your other problem with cutting out, these ain't restricted so it's not that.

If I was you I'd go and join the KTM forum, I remember quite a few people having more than one problem with these, one being cutting out or running crap @ around the 8000 rpm mark (could be wrong rpm).

Can't remember where I see it but I'm sure if there was a problem they will know over there:)

Starting to resemble a bike again, noticed the front wheel axle is bent so need a new one - off to ebay! For some reason the fuel pump is not priming, I can override is manually but it will not do it automatically. Don't suppose anyone has an ideas? Couldn't get the bike to fire even when doing it manually. I've taken the lean angle sensor apart and made sure its moving so it shouldn't be that, a bit of googling hasn't given me many ideas yet :(

Should have been doing the bikesafe day at Castle Coombe but found a slow puncture in the front :( Booked in next week @ JHS Racing to get some Pilot Road 4's fitted. Gutted :( was hoping to get through the summer on the Bridgestones.

If i could find it maybe. It's dropping 2 psi a day so defo something in there. Not a big fan of them anyway and the PR4's are amazing so not the worst thing that could happen! Plus I need to go to JHS anyway and drop off the steering damper to get revalved to race spec!

I hit 76mph today and had no problems with the bike, I did read a bit about it after I bought it. But it seems fine, I can easily keep up with YZF and CBR'13 so the engine is running fine, it could be something to do with the electrics... This only happened once when I trashed the bike a little bit, after that it was fine. I'll try to replicate this situation on Friday as we're going to London for a meetup over at Ace Cafe.

It might of been a 1 time thing, its not like you drive at top speed all the time, right? I tested the bike to see if mine is having same problems as some people have reported and filmed it. But it passed every single one so I might of went into a small bump which could have caused short circuit...

BTW The bike actually states 21bhp whilst searching for it by the reg, so it could be a 200cc restricted to 15bhp? i heard this before and even someone today told me that this engine is 200cc and I was like "naah, its a 125"...

A bump in the road won't do it, I think the problem @8000 rpm was ECU related but like I said I can't remember where I see it.

There is a 200cc version but that would have 200 on the graphics and is around 26bhp, if you have a 200 you're riding outside your licence so I'd get it checked out.

Here she is.

Here's the 125, he states it's 14 bhp but that's the 2011 the 2012 is 15bhp and is the same as the 2014/15 models I think.
The 2015 is a bit faster top end over the 2014.

Look on the engine cylinder casing, its usually stamped into it 125cc or 200cc ect

Sure you didn't hit the rev limiter? It'll jerk you forward and youll lose speed when you do

Nearly lost it on the bike this morning. Back kicked out to the left when going in a straight line so eased off throttle but it swang back the other way.

It came back in line but with a flick which shook the whole bike. I some how managed to stay on the bike.

Nearly pulled an accidental wheelie last night, was coming home from work at silly o'clock took off from the lights a bit quick and the front end started to lift.
Little brown pants moment right there!

Bit of diseil?

Something had absolutely pee'd Diesel all over one of my roundabouts this morning, luckily something told me to slow right down where I'd normally keep a decent pace so I managed to spot it all over my usual riding line or else my nice new bike would not have been so shiny any more!

Not strictly today, but cut the L plates off on Friday !

Then went to look at big bikes, via the motorway for a giggle, I can confirm that 1 junction on a 125 is more than enough for a lifetime.

Quick question for those who have bought the new TOMTOM Rider satnav (I know there's at least a couple) - are the only options for powering it through the included cable that connects to your battery? I've wired in a USB/fag lighter socket on my handlebar so could easily power it from that instead of having to lift the tank again and wire in the cable - if only there was a short usb adapter to connect to the built in power cable...

So I'm not alone than, my back tyre (the tyres were warmed up) lost traction yesterday and a bit of drift was going on. I really need to change those tyres, at 60mph falling on a sharper bend with tons of trees around wouldn't be fun... :(
