What did you do to your bike today?

If you don't mind me asking, how much is your insurance for the R6? BTW is car insurance for your Scooby high as well or are bikes an exception?

WRX is $2100, R6 is $1300.

Insurance is expensive in Florida because no one can drive and everyone runs into eachother to claim personal injury.

That is high, I thought that insurance in the US is cheaper...

What sort of MPG do you get from the Scooby?

I've got all in one waterproofs it still ***** me off, would just be nice to have a few days dry riding.

Dainese d-dry series is awesome, my Dainese Seca D-Dry jacket has airflow, keeps my body temperature on the right level (without sweating and getting cold) and most importantly keeps you dry! :D

Had one of them Gold R TSI models follow me up a DC today, after a small roundabout which I took at about 30-40mph it went behind me in my lane, I gave it some beans and I wasn't gaining any ground up to just over 80 (kph ;)).

Mind you, they do have 300bhp and 4wd, 30k's worth of car which it seems on paper my little 400 has matched :D similar 0-60 time of 5 seconds, although the VW can do 155mph vs my 120mph max.

However, I do look forward to the day when I'm on something with about 150bhp and nothing on the road (apart form hypercars) can touch the performance.

It's not all about the power...

Been messing around with electronics for a couple of days trying to figure out why it wouldn't start (had HI stuck on the dash), bike would crank but wouldn't prime the pump. Could manually prime the pump but it still wouldn't start. Found some wires on the ignition that were broken and crimped them back together with no luck. Fast forward to today, flash the ECU with a US map to disable the immobiliser and it lives! Runs perfect, no noises, no leaks - so freaking happy! :D

I've started to just risk getting a bit damp rather than wrapping up in a condom, much nicer in this sticky weather to have some airflow even if you do get a bit damp.

My waterproofs stay in my bag unless it's properly peeing down.

I know exactly what you mean & do the same whilst it's hot but recently we've been getting real hard bursts of rain that literally drench you through in about 2 mins & then stop a min later, Wish it would just rain or not rain. Would just be nice to get home without having to wipe the bike over & dry out.
I can't remember a Summer being this wet for ages.

Youll beat em on a 600cc sportsbike, anything larger is just gravy

And I will beat the 600's on the 1000, anything lower is slower :p;)

It's not all about the power...

Of course on bike v bike its all about the cornering ability, anyone can go fast in a straight line, but he was asking about performance in what I am guessing is a drag race against a car, his 400 is getting beat so a 250 is certainly not going to stand a chance :D
One of my best mates has the Golf R, yeah its quick for a car but the 1000 makes it look like a 1.2 polo :p

One of the guys in the office bought a brand new Fiesta ST and seems to be a bit butt hurt that my little SV that cost at least 15k less would absolutely spank him unless we were going for all out top speed.

The little SV is quicker than most people think :D
We were impressed with MowyTone on the last OCUK meet on his SV!

The first car I got beat by when I had mine was a Golf R32, and even then it was because the SV had topped out.... :D

Some little rude boy in his blacked out BMW tried to beat me off the line on my way into work this morning, I gave him a little thumbs up when he finally caught up to me at the next set of red lights.
He did not have the same grin on his face I did :D

Some White BMW X6 pulled across to stop me filtering then when the lanes opened up I was going along side him and he tried to come over into me / my lane!
Made me want to test my titanium Dainese gloves on his pos car but I held it together.
First time that has ever happened to me, I guess he didn't like Ducati :(
I should probably get a helmet camera.

I can't even begin to comprehend what goes through peoples heads to make them feel the need to do stuff like that, if we'd broken into their house and crapped on their mum I could kind of understand it but just because we're on bikes doesn't make any sense.
Definitely worth picking up a helmet cam, it's not going to save your life but it'll make any claim against ***** like that much easier.

It certainly gets the adrenaline pumping!

Apparently there is a Facebook group for Norwich or Norfolk where people post repeat offenders doing exactly the same thing trying to take out bikers.
I don't use Facebook though so can't check?

To be fair I guess the guy just didn't see or hear me but when I look at him and waved my hand he just blanked me and my bike isn't exactly silent!

On your moby with the drivers window open then you are going to get deafened by Me. :p My pipes are that loud the traffic has parted before I've even got there. :D

Yeah since getting the Ducati I find people move out the way so much sooner than with the XJ but this guy was on a mission!

First run in service is tomorrow then I can open it up above 6k rpm, going to make some noise next time for sure!
