What did you do to your bike today?

Messed around with fueling at 2%/5%/10% throttle below 3500rpm to see why it won't rev freely from idle, seems it's the throttle mapping, not fueling

Since I passed my test I've found a reason to ride every single day, 5 minute trips to the Post Office turn into hour long rides.

The SV is just such a nice confidence inspiring bike, handles like it's on rails, back end gets a little skittish on really bumpy roads but the new monoshock I've got waiting to go on should improve that.

I've been wondering what the hell Suzuki are doing with this GSXS range :/
Suzuki are falling behind a bit compared to other brands, its a shame really as their GSXR K7, K8 and K9 are probably the most beautiful sports around. Well, the S1000RR 1st gen is also a gorgeous bike. Their newer bikes are ugly, not sure if the guy who does the designs was changed? :(

Have you had a chance to test out any other bikes apart from the SV? I can't wait to jump on something bigger, being stuck behind a bus because you don't have enough power to overtake is really annoying... :(

My Bits arrived half hour ago but it's Lashing it down here so no chance to get out for a fitting. Think I'll wander down the town & pick up some Butt splices, I already have some heat shrink so Butt splices with heat shrink over will be the tidiest way to go. Back light is really small & so is the bracket it comes on I'm real pleased with it & reckon I can make a reg plate bracket out of it & the metal work is flat black so looks right as well. Rear indicators look a piece of **** to do but the fronts will be a right mission as the bike has chrome fork covers over the indicator stalk connectors so I have to loosen off the triple tree get the olds off then work out a way of mounting the new ones which looks right. I've also been thinking of cutting the rear pegs off losing the foot boards then installing the rear pegs up front, Only a thought at the mo though.
Think I prob have 2-3 Full days work ahead of me & then God knows how long it will take to finish it off. At the mo it's all about Bobbing it but keeping it on the road as it is my only Transport these days I don't even own a car at the mo.

Thinking out loud & pics to follow of course. :D

Changed my indicators for Oxford Jupiters all round, here is the rear shot

And then i did an oil change, along with Wurth motorcycle engine flush. i found some rather big flakes of what i could only assume was carbon, it crumbled like cement does so i cant imagine it was metal, if i can find another piece i may grab a picture.

I personally would not use Butt splicers on indicators e.t.c I prefer bullet connections so if need be a replacement will be a 2 minute job.

Depends if they will ever need to come off, but even then it will probably be a three minute job to just cut the splice out and re-splice/wire.

If you change your mind on the tail light e.t.c will be much quicker with bullets and neater thats why there used as standard.

Nothing worse than buying a bike when some one has gone crazy with butt slicers e.t.c.

I agree on the bullets for the future but think I can get the splices smaller & want it as low profile as poss, I don't mind redoing them if needed & I don't care about any future owner because I'm good like that. :p
In all honesty it will depend on what I see in the local shop, Same with my rear mudguard supports I'm just looking around for the right bar that I can bash & bend into the shape I want. Either a round piece of bar that I can flatten both ends for fitting or some flat strips if I can find some strong enough that are still fairly thin. The whole thing is about knocking something up in my back yard with whatever is at hand, I'm not even looking at perfect let alone aiming for it I just want a Bike with a bit of me in it.

There is a couple other bits that came out that are worrying me too, they look like they actually belong to something :(

Rear footrests... Do you mean absolutely filthy?

hard to tell from pics, either dirt or corrosion,i sprayed mine

try and post some pics,it cud be crud from the bottom of the sump pan or oilways that the engine flush has shifted idk

if your clutch plates are going then they breakdown, the Kevlar/cork plates

Took a test ride on a Z1000sx. It may be a sports tourer but the focus is definitely on sport. Overtaking on my bike is simple enough but on this sx overtaking was so quick I'm pretty sure opening the throttle took me out of phase and I just passed through the other vehicles.

Will it be my next bike? Not sure as the seating position is very sporty and my legs are too long and old.

really? i agree the engine is a missile but i found the seating position way too bolt upright and nothing close to sporty, in fact closed position ive felt to it was the bandit 1250.

brakes are amazing on it too.

It's definitely more of a supernaked like the S1000R than a sports tourer - it doesn't have panniers or any fixing points for them for starters.

yes it does they slide on an off the passenger grab rails.

Sporty for me as I've never owned a sports bike. The footrests were further back than I am used to and it took a few miles to get used to it but once I did it was good. Yes I was sat more upright than a pure sports bike but leaning forward a fair bit more than I'm used to. It does have the ZX10 engine in it, albeit set up differently, and is as close to a sports bike as I'd ever want to be. When I got back on my Tiger afterwards it felt so different acceleration wise and even though I'd only done around 45 miles on the sx, I was pining for the engine.
