What did you do to your bike today?

I personally would not use Butt splicers on indicators e.t.c I prefer bullet connections so if need be a replacement will be a 2 minute job.

You are right Bud so Cheers for the kick up the ****. :)

Today is Bobber creation day so last night I was planning out the jobs & I'll be taking the guards off the front & rear loads of times before I'm finished what with getting the cut right painting & tweaking so I went down town this morning & bought a kit with all I will need for a Pro job. .one. was right it'll look much better & I'll be able to dismantle the bike loads easier as I progress through the build.
Kits got all the connectors I'm going to need a Test screw driver & a little phillips, some cable ties & a pair of multi pliers.

Cost me £12.95 so with my lights & Indicators & flasher box All in I've spent less than £25. :D

I shall be back later with tales of woe & bits of my motorbike in my hands & post a few pics of how well or bad it turned out. :p

Also saw a couple of kitchen door handles I reckon will make good rear guard struts. There long & chrome & normally fit the long kitchen cupboard door. If there long enough & I can fit them well I'll go back & buy them, £2.99 each with a real good finish on them.

Nice, keep up the good work mate.

After bodging the front indicators I'm going to do the same to the rear ones when I get home. I've had a quick look and it looks like I'll need something to hold them in place - any ideas? I'm thinking a large washer or something. Depends on what the OEM ones are mounted on I suppose.

Well like anything in this World is hasn't been easy & all I've done so far is change the rear light, mounted my plate & changed the rear indicators. When I started taking it to bits there was just more & more that I had to sort out, Cutting back wires locating things where they are s'posed to be & generally tidying it all up.
Rear light went on ridiculously easy & I even located the new bracket using the old ones holes. I just wanted to get it mounted & working properly then I can relocate it where I want it at a later date. Then onto the rear indicators where the real Faff went on, Wiring them & locating them was just as easy as the rear light but the off side indicator just wouldn't work properly, Worked off the bike but not when bolted on the ****. After god knows how long faffing about I found a break in the wire under the protective sheath that came on it originally, Sorted that & I now have the rears working. Think I'll do the fronts tomorrow when I can handle some more faffing about, I don't want to do it stressed & rush it.
Can't do the chopping of the mud guards yet as I'm waiting to hear back from my insurance, There cool about the other mods I've done but need to get back to me about the terminology of cutting my guards down, As it stands there is an option for fairing removal but not chopping them up a bit so there going to get back to me within 48 hours to sort it. I have to be Legal on my bikes & don't even take a chance with an unclaimed Mod.
As the bike stands I am 100% legal & that's how I like it, I can wait 48 hours to cut down my guards & finish it off.

@MowyTone - Hard to say without seeing what you have & where it's going. Post a couple of pics if you want an opinion. :)

The other day I had my first service done and DP oversized screen fitted, not 100% sure I enjoy the new wind blast from it, more at my neck now than abdomen when sitting up but easier to get down behind it without having to lay flat on the tank.

Love how it looks though!

Today I had the Oberon clutch slave cylinder fit, dealership did it for free and flushed new fluid through! Such good service from Seastar Superbikes
The clutch is now the perfect weight but has lost a small amount of feel when letting it out slow finding the biting point.
I don't mind that as I like to keep it in gear at lights and the trade off for not having an Arnold forearm is all right with me!

I went with the Titanium colour thinking it would match the casing but it doesn't so should have just gone with black

Lovely looking bikes those Panigales. Think I'd have to put bigger crash bungs/fork protectors on than those though, They look cool as **** but not big enough to prevent much damage. Screen looks mint but you really need to lose those horrible wing mirror indicator things. Some discreet shaped mirrors would look loads better.

Took mine out for a road test & it was all still working after my ride out. :p I've got a few things on tomorrow but hopefully I'll find the time to fit the front indicators if not then some time over the weekend.

If I was tracking it then I would do the big engine mounted sliders (there is no frame) and the bigger fork ones but I figure if I do something on the road the bike is going to get ****ed up anyway so for now I will stick with these nice looking ones as it is better than nothing.

I hope to do California Superbike School on a rental 899 and if that goes well I may take mine on track, although I may just buy another bike if I get hooked.

Not a lot of options with the wing mirrors, Rizoma Veloce-L look good but very expensive for a pair with adapters, another option is mirror blanking plates that have indicators in and get bar end mirrors.
Not sure, I don't really mind the stock ones to be honest so not in a rush to change them.

Edit:

If anyone is in East Anglia and wants to meet up, I go to Whitwell & Reepham Station Bike Night most Fridays around 7pm, they have a BBQ, bar, tea room and always a good variety of bikes to look at!

Yep always at least one S1000RR.
The other night there were two Kawasaki Ninja H2s and a Turbo Hayabusa!

Wow, nice I haven't had a chance to see the H2 closely, saw it once flying by past me. :p

On the meetup there was a HP4, MV Agusta F4, R1 2015, couple RSV4's and a self built diesel engine motorcycle from Germany. That guy knew what he was talking about...

Some images, click on them for bigger image.

They are very popular and almost all our customers get a Termi exhaust fitted. We even had 3 customers who bought the Superleggera and that's one hell of a bike.

You work in a Ducati store and ride a Triumph? Surely they must give you a good deal if you were to buy one and service it with them?

Well, I got hit from behind on my way home tonight....

By a cyclist! :p:rolleyes::D

Where I work they're doing a load of roadworks, including converting a SC into a DC. So I'm sat on the far right of the road, which is still a SC but has a kerb in the middle ready for the central reservation to be built, I'm not moving, rear brake on, as I've I've filtered past a couple of cars and I'm waiting for a bigger gap to the right from the car in front. Been sat not moving for about 5 seconds, when I feel a tap from behind. I look behind to my right and there's a bloke on a push bike gone arse over tit sat on the central reservation!:D

He mutters "sorry, I thought you we're going" or something like that, I say are you ok, quickly check over the back of my bike (zero damage, none at all), and proceed to ride away as the traffic's now started moving.

Cyclists. I know they're not all the same, but what a dozy ***** this one was!! :p

This is the road - imagine the left lane coned off, all traffic heading up the hill is in the right lane of these 2 lanes - the other traffic going down the hill is now on the other side of the central kerb. The central bit is now filled in (where the grey pipe is) with tarmac). I'm sat as far as I can to the right, no gap between me and the car in front to filter through, and I'm a metre from his bumper.

The cyclist must have come from go-knows-where, it was just the sheer surprise of it, I was like... errr... WTF. How have you just ridden into a STATIONARY vehicle!?

I need to get myself a camera at some point. :D this one would have been perfect for the MGS Alert "!" sound :D

I bought the Triumph before I started working there and am now thinking of trading it in for a Z1000sx, we're a multi franchise dealer, and as much as I do like the Multistrada, the only Ducati I'd actually buy, I can't really justify the cost compared to the cost of the sx.

oh ok, so what other makes do you sell?
BTW Kawasaki has some really advanced tech in their bikes compared to other Japanese bikes. Not sure how they compare to BMW though, I'm not that interested in bikes which I can't afford atm.

Looks sells,if only they made them out if something stronger than chocolate, or you didn't have to service them religiously

Kawasaki are awesome, even the recent styling across their range looks good, modern

Hahaha, I know what you mean... that bloke had a whole rucksack of tools, he was constantly fidgeting with that bike.

Thinking about ER6-N or F for next bike, but I'm tempted to save up for a bit longer and get GSXR 600. Decisions, decisions... I think I'm too young for a Triumph Boneville, will get one when in my mid 30's.

The sidestand are deadly on the ducati's and cagiva's,the flick themselves up far to easy

Now I know why he had a plank of wood as a side-stand, so no side panels are not there as it constantly breaks and it makes it easier to access the engine? :D:p

BTW Wazza, I know you said that you'll upgrade to a different bike when your Kawasaki dies. Will you go with Kawasaki again or? You must have had a moment when you were thinking of "what my next bike will be", no?

I've only ever owned Kawasaki's and one cagiva so maybe I'm biased,I just want something that's fairly sporty, reliable and excellent fuel economy

My current zx6r is fine ATM,I'd probably go with the 2013 zx6r if I had to get another,my zx10 is just too thirsty, the power and speed is awesome but you pay for it and you really notice it if you have to comute a lot

Ducati, Kawasaki, Yamaha & Aprilia. I am a huge Kawasaki fan, my first bike back in the late 1980's was a KMX 125, and I've owned mostly Kawasaki's. The Z1000sx is a very popular bike and we can't get any new ones for ages now as rumour has it it's getting an update, a slipper clutch as is on the same engined Versys 1000 and new paint jobs, and if I want one soon I either buy second hand or buy our demo though it's not the colour I want.
