What did you do to your bike today?

Cheers. :)

Nope, it's with Openroad Motorcycle Training in Bromsgrove. :)

That's who I did my CBT and DAS with! Had a great time. Though the slim ginger guy loved checking his phone and ****ging off other drivers, more than he loved teaching his students. Can't actually remember his name, might have been Nick.

They run great bikes though, practically brand new Honda CB650Fs, very easy to operate and loads of poke.

they will probably take you round the ring road, its not bad tbf, past the wolves ground

Yeah they said they would, it's roughly 30 minutes from where they are in Grove so shouldn't be too challenging!

His name is Neil, it's who i'm with and also Nick too, he hasn't passed his DAS instructors course yet but as i asked for him after he did my CBT, they let him tag along. :)

Yeah the CB650F is a good bike, i have been impressed how quickly they pull in any gear, though that maybe due to the fact I've been riding a 125 :p Where about' are you then? I'm in Redditch just down the A38 as you come towards the Tardebigge pub. :)

Not many people like Dunlops road tyres, they seem to be tyres that love a lot of heat and work best when incredibly hot. Definitely not a UK tyre.

You will adore your PR3's just like me and my PR4's.

They're extremely popular here, but are lethal right now on the cold roads.

Neil, that's the guy.

It was entertaining to listen to his radio chatter actually, and I suppose he came up with some useful points, but most of his non-riding time was spent talking about how awful taxi drivers are and browsing the internet on his phone.

This was slightly annoying given how much it costs, because I felt at the time that he could have been spending that time telling me how to pass, but hey - I passed and he was good fun, so it's fine.

He gave me some really good non-DAS tips too, such as not smashing my gear lever to get into first and dragging the rear brake when engine braking, to let the driver behind you know that you're slowing down.

I live in Studley. I looked into a couple of other places slightly nearer me, but Open Road were a fair bit cheaper at the time, and had a discount for people that did CBT with them. I was also loving my 125 at the time and was perfectly happy to scoot over to Bromsgrove!

The ring road is quite fun in the middle of the night when it's dead, not so much fun in the day when it's full of special people in cars :o

I'm surprised they're taking you onto the ring road though as it's nowhere near the test center and there's much better roads round here to actually learn to ride than just rolling round the ring road.

Maybe we'll go a different route, it's really foggy and damp this morning, just got to nail the slalom and figure of 8 and I'll be ok! :)

Will you be doing your MOD 2 at Wolves as well? Keep your eyes open today, my ride from Wolves to Kiddie this morning involved more than one person trying to pull out on me or change into my lane with me next to them.

Could barely see out of my headlight today, 30mph the whole way at half 5 this morning. I wasn't cold though but it was like riding through a rain cloud.

Hate riding in fog, constantly having to wipe the visor every few minutes or else you can't see anything. And the amount of silver cars with no headlights/just sidelights

Broke the genuine gopro j-buckle clip yesterday, when removing it one of the clips just snapped - so much for the proper stuff being better quality!

And I had £70 stolen from me for renewing my passport :D

Rode mine to work! Will be doing it for the week, as my car has been returned to the garage for repair work under warranty - I'm typically a fair weather poofta so it was fun today; all that bloody fog!

Just pulled up to the mod 1 centre, test isn't for an hour so can chill out and relax, strangely no nerves yet!

Nothing to be nervous about on the MOD 1 you know exactly what's going to happen and you've been through it all numerous times, you'll be fine. Good luck!

The examiners at Wolves are pretty good as well all very relaxed and will have a laugh with you.

There is one guy though whose name I've forgotten but I had him for my MOD 2 and my instructor warned me that even if you've passed you'll think you've failed as he reels off everything you did wrong, he was right I thought there was no way I was passing as he listed all my little hiccups until he actually said congratulations you've passed.

Exciting times, best of luck! :D

Most of my miles are motorway so a quick glance left and right tends to clear the droplets straight off.

There was a tailback on the exit slip today, I really didn't fancy sitting at the back of that in the fog, I may have probably ended up as a new hood ornament! So I decided to filter past a couple of cars, just so I was out of immediate danger.

lol I had that with my instructor in Leicester (closest test place for me), although he said I passed before all that, so I stopped listening due to excitement :p

Oops :(

Clipping a cone could be seen as clipping a parked car or another static object, so normally a fail. I think people have scraped a pass when clipping if they literally shave it, but if you wobble it or knock it over then I suppose they're quite right to fail you (sorry to say!).

Have you got the next one booked yet?! Get it booked ASAP, then get onto the site every day and look for cancellations. Some training centres also have pre-booked slots, so you might be able to take within a week or as quickly as the rules allow.

You won't be able to retake it that quickly it's a 10 working day wait before you can retake a failed test.

Edit: scratch that it's only 10 days for the MOD 2 it's only 3 for the MOD 1 so fingers crossed!
