What did you do to your bike today?

You are right, you shouldn't wax/polish matte finish. But swissvax do a special wax just for matte finish 'Opaque' 50ml, bit expensive but it only needs applying 1-2 times a year. I got it originally for the matte graphite Street Triple I used to have.

Ah, cool! Will keep that in mind for if/when I get the new matte grey Speed Triple, or any other matte bike :D

New Yamaha MT10

Powered by the crossplane IL4 from the R1, with cruise control. Oh and it looks completely freaking mental! :D

Awesome release video too!

Not my bike but went off roading on a KTM 250 yesterday with a colleague, first time off roading in 12" deep sand, it was awesome! Didn't fall off once and learned fairly quickly, getting used to it sliding and feeling like it's going to spit me off was difficult!

Aching like crazy today though

Isn't enduro very good to enchance your bike control skills? I swear someone told me this before, not sure if I remember correctly though.

I would love to own a SM, but the service intervals would clean up my wallet quickly. :p

Yeah it's great for bike control, I'd love to do an off road day sometime. You get used to the bike sliding, locking up the rear, and handling a bike on all sorts of loose stuff.

I do like the MT-10, but the bikes always look different on real life amateur photos. Now its the wait game, intill gizmag does a review video on YT. :)

I reckon the bike will have 160-170bhp, what do you people think?

Yeah it'll be 160-170bhp, it'll be killer on price though knowing good value the MT series of bikes are. £10k sounds about right ;)

Strangely the Yamaha website seems to have died... :D

I checked my insurance, the MT-07 will be £970 TPFT, whilst the CBR650F or CB650F is £1480... no difference in price for the Honda.

Maybe they're updating the info about new bikes on their site? :p

Edit BTW
Coincedence? I don't think so...

2016 going to be a good year for bikes, as they predicted. The MT10, a 230 hp RSV-4, Panagale 959 and Suzuki.. an all new GSX-R 1000 with... new 30th anniversary livery :o

New Husqurvana out as well, 700-ish cc road bike. Looks nice side on, but I think they've messed up the rear with the under seat exhaust. I'm desperate for a bike like the Nuda 900R, skinny rear where the wheel is almost fatter, but there's nothing really like it. I'll have to keep my eye out 2nd hand.

Ahh, glad I haven't bought the Tomtom rider yet, there's a new one due to be announced at the Milan show too. I did wonder why they were chucking in a free car mount at my local bike dealer.

The sand was so deep if you let off the throttle the front digs in and it tries to spit you off, so much fun but was horrible to begin with, the rear wheel is all over the place. I'd recommend it to everyone

The current Tomtom rider is great, if it drops in price once the new one is released I highly recommend it. Can't think of anything extra they could really stick on a new model that would be worth the premium.

Fixing the poor map browsing performance alone would be worth an upgrade.

I've never been a fan of dedicated sat navs even for bikes but the Tomtom rider 40 is around £200 which is pretty reasonable. I'd never pay £300+ for a sat nav, I could get a couple of decent phones with offline maps for that price, but if I could get a motorcycle sat nav with lockable mount for around £220 I might buy it. I am kinda surprised that there isn't a motorcycle sat nav app for android or that there isn't a cheaper option than Garmin and tomtom.

Yeah you'd have to be mad to pay that much. My Rider V5 was 160 CHF just before the current model was released, which is about £110.

For that price it was well worth having.
