What did you do to your bike today?

I did think that at first, doing shoulder checks it felt like the wind was going to rip the helmet off my head! After a while though you get used to it, your neck muscles get stronger and I honestly don't feel the wind at all now at normal motorway speeds, 70-80mph.

I noticed that too, trying to do a life saver while going 60mph down a slip road is a challenge :D It'll take some time to get used to, didn't really fully open the throttle on my DAS so i still have that to experience.. :p

Finishing up assignments before the holidays and currently doing F all. :D

BTW I can't wait till my license, its so depressing seeing all those bikers enjoying the weather and I'm just there casually walking... :(

:D Sounds like a typical student :D :D

I'll be one of those, did you see i passed my MOD2 on monday? Now legal and dropped the L Plates. :D

Yeah I've noticed that recently. I can reach 80mph on a small dual carriage way on my way home, I used to hate going that fast but I barely notice it anymore. Lifesavers are still a bit difficult but other than that I'm used it.

:p Thanks :) I did post a few pages asking where you were, thought you wouldn't post in here anymore now you have to walk everywhere... :p ;)

Want to buy my Duke?

I just did a quick search and saw it, yeah I walk everywhere now... :( I still take the bus as its only 2.10 for a return, small life hack makes it that cheap. Without the hack it would be 3.40!

Nah, I don't want another 125... I was thinking of buying a 125 moped with a massive front screen as a cheap transport. But when I saw a guy in London on one, I quickly changed my mind. hahaha :p

So what bike are you finally going for? You can't make your mind up, can ya? What have you test ridden so far?

I did a shoulder check at 130MPH to move into lane 2 on the Authobahn, it was wild enough in a semi tuck, oh my did I get a surprise when I moved out of the relative 'comfort' zone! :D

I do 90mph most mornings on my naked, you don't do shoulder checks at that speed though! I have a small screen which helps a bit.

They do the CBR650f also which is the faired version. I was looking at them too, seem a good allround bike. Not a balls out racer but then it's comfortable on your commute and they can apparently get 70mpg easily.

First time I shoulder checked on the motorway at *cough* 70mph *cough* I thought my head was coming off my shoulders, only made that mistake once and that's on a faired bike.

There's West Midlands motorcycle center as well, near Stourbridge. Highway motorcycles in Wolves, Quarry bank motorcycles again out Stourbridge way.
If any more pop into my head I'll let you know.

Drowned my brake switch in GT85 last night and it's now working beautifully, the garage said my rear one had gone as well but I'm not sure what the guy was smoking because I checked that as soon as I got back to the office and it was fine and again this morning I just think he wasn't pushing it hard enough.

Fitted my new fuel cap to match the ignition, wiggled my rear indicator bulb as the fitting is so rusted up the spring doesn't always push the contact up enough any more. I've got replacements to go on but getting the old ones off is going to be one of those simple but stressful jobs because the nuts will be seized solid.

Also ordered some blank keys from some Chinese eBay seller so I'll have nice Suzuki keys again. No point whatsoever other than the keys that came with my lockset have that "My first big boy locker key" look about them and I don't like it :D

As it's Christmas just treated myself to some gold braided brake lines with blue fittings, planning on getting my callipers redone in gold as well so that'll give me something to do in the new year.

Had a play on the Pro Bolt site as well, £100 on shiny bits seemed a little crazy but I'll probably give in at some point :o

I still shoulder check on the motorway, just wont look right behind me. Key thing is to make sure your visor is locked in place. I've had it lift on me once and it's an experience I can do without again :D

I tend to do shoulder checks as a quick look down and right, rather than a full 90 degree turn of the head.

Ordered a load of 'gopro' mounts off the rainforest, 33 different bits and bobs for £12 including a suction mount, barclamp and loads of stickypads and curved/straight mounts. I'll be trying a few locations at the rear of the bike to get some decent exhaust noise, with the Yi out of it's waterproof casing (on a dry day, obviously!).

When I was doing a top speed run on my duke, at 85mph lying down on the tank tried to look back to see if I didn't lost my mate on his duke. My visor opened and unclip from one side... It sometimes opened at the speed of 70mph looking back though :p Shark... French quality...

The CBR650F is a nioce bioke, with the right can it sounds nice too. :D

@Clovis, What about the new SV650 or MT07? :p

The new SV650 doesn't sit well with me, I'm not a massive fan of naked bikes anyway but the older N model doesn't look too bad.

The new one just looks like they've ridden it through their parts store and seen what stuck.

I've heard a couple of people say their Sharks had dodgy visors mines been fine well into three figures, might be worth contacting them as they come with a 5 yr warranty IIRC.

Why's he got 1000RR stickers on his bike? :p

I've thought about the MT-07, could buy one brand new though as second hand they haven't lost any value at all!
