What did you do to your bike today?

Why is the rear shock sitting at an angle? That doesn't look right.

That looks... interesting! Good time to have a proper look in there while the wheel is off, doesn't look right.

What bike is it?

I think ive worked it out. The number plate is on wonky to the left and the body work is on wonky to the right matched with the exhaust not running perpendicular to the shock makes for one wonky looking bike.

Its a VTR Firestorm.

over 100 miles away, hmm... that's 200 miles just for the travel.

I did 97 miles to my bike and 97 miles back :)

Of course, you need to be pretty damn sure of what you're getting before you go there.

Chap I bought it off even made me a walk around video which defo put me at ease

I have searched in the Mansfield area (35 miles) Sheffield (22 miles) and Doncaster (21 miles) I found this bike literally 2 miles away in the bike depot.

There was another guy sniffing around too, but decided that I wanted it. I have been looking around for about 2 months or so. I wanted a new bike, but adding up the costs I couldn't justify it. Always have liked the SVs too. :)

Yeah, I went to view it yesterday. Will need to be restricted, but there are no chips or scratches where I could see, it is like showroom condition. I'll post up a couple of pictures shortly. :)

:D

Yeah, from a dealership. Oddly my dad has known the guy for 15 years.

Good bikes the triples. Test rode a street shortly after doing my DAS. Scared the life out of me :D

Well....I scared the life out of me in that the way it made me want to ride. There's power all over the rev range and the smile it gives you going from 30 in 3rd to.......fast.

I got the SV after that but for a few reasons. I always liked SVs and said I would have one for my first bike.
I also felt I wouldn't last long without the experience on a bigger bike to keep the street upright (with the way it was making me ride).

Some things to remember:
Everyone is different so what someone felt or experienced on a bike doesn't mean it will be the same for you
Whatever you get you are going to be faster than most cars
Get what you like as otherwise you will end up longing for the bike you didn't pick
Remove factory exhaust ASAP (putting an aftermarket one on is optional ;))

What do you mean 'The way it made you ride'? Was it tempting you to try and get a knee down around corners? :p

While I can't speak for MowyTown, the Street Triples are well known to be hooligan machines.

They are happiest when undergoing hard acceleration, love to wheelie, weigh nothing and handle incredibly. Plus they gave it an bloomin' awesome induction noise at 8-9K RPM and a 15K red line (less on the newer models).

The whole package seems to egg you on to lose your licence or your life.

As Kreeeee has said. The way the bike feels and responds eggs you on to ride it fast

Yup did a silly license losing speed within ten minutes when I test rode it. Too expensive for me as it'll just be a toy. Really nice though.

Finished fitting the new race unit, going to try attending as many track days this year as possible.

Unit comes with Quickshifter (different sensor compared to the Healtech i currently use)
Launch Control and a Pit limiter.

Spent yesterday dialling the LC in which is currently set at 10K, works incredibly well, quickshifter still needs some adjustments but very pleased overall.

Did my last 2 hour walk to work and have fitted a nice pilot road 4. Now to eat dust for the rest of the month... but that new tyre feel though

Put some silver rim tape on that i got from ebay, i didnt last 2 minutes down the road :/

Is that the SP Unit? been tempted by that also.. :D
Also what bike?

Yeah Fireskull it's the SP unit bud, very easy to fit and adjust, i can't even begin to describe how awesome it sounds launching the bike:D

On an R6, will post a video up of the QS and launch control in action as soon as it's dry again... to help with the temptation lol.

Haha yes do it, I will have to get one then..... Are you going to use the pit limiter option? I think I would use it just for the noise :D
