What did you do to your bike today?

You didn't? That makes me feel pretty happy as it should really prepare me. I guess cause I had mod 1 taken care of already we just focus completely on mod 2.

What time is your mod 2? Mine was at 1pm and we didn't start until 10am, a quick blast down to the test centre which was roughly 5 mile away, booked in and went back out for an hour, had some lunch and got back to the test centre 40 minutes before my test to go over some more questions.

You might do a lot of miles the 1st day as all you need is road riding experience now.

I don't actually know the time of my test as they haven't sent me my paperwork. I know it's before 12 though.

But I have all day Sat/Sun then I get to the training place at about 8:30 on Tuesday and ride for an hour or so then of to my test. The test centre is about the same 5 miles from where I train

@tom you'll get all what you need of eBay,used parts, far far cheaper

Already picked up a full set of LED indicators, a gear shift and a replacement front res bracket for about £60 all together.

Their list included replacing the full res assembly, bar ends, clutch lever, bobbins, crash bungs and mirror alongside that.

In terms of the Mod 1, what is actually involved? I will speak with my instructor on Sunday, but would like heads up on what is involved. Is it quite intensive, what's actually in it, and generally how long does it last?

Not intensive at all, I found it the really easy part of the test. Basically don't put your foot down, do your shoulder checks and don't lock up on the emergency stop.

You'll ace It. I was really worried but once you're in the gated area just get your head down (metaphorically of course) and you'll breeze through it. Took me about 10-15 minutes tops

Just take your time and don't rush. Chances are by the time you go to do it you'll be more than prepared.

I'd say good luck but I know you'll do fine. Keep your head up (not metaphorically this time lol) and remember your lifesavers. They'll tell you to treat it like your on a road.

Good lad, those rubbers wont disapoint ;)

@tallpaul you going for the angel gts again?

Yep, I've got an Angel GT on the front which has hardly any wear on it, the rear has been a great tyre for commuting and normal riding, it's performed flawlessly in all conditions, 8k+ miles on it isn't too shabby either :)

It's getting very close to the wear indicators in the centre, but it just keeps on going! I though I'd have to replace it around xmas but it'll last until the end of this month easy.

Edit - working it out it's actually around 8k+, if I rode more corners it'd last longer as it's only in the middle where it's worn.

No wonder bikes end up written off for nothing, the garage patched me up enough to get home and done a list of things they think need replacing if I needed it to give to my insurance.

The final bill comes to £388.86!!

I'm replacing all 4 indicators with nice LED ones for the same price they've quoted me for one!

I hope they have changed the connections on the indicator leads then....I had to cut the ends off and put bullet clips all round to put new indicators on. That was an older SV though

I picked up some bullet to suzuki connection leads, although on the pointy there's different connections for the front and rear ones luckily I had a feeling that was the case so double checked before I ordered :o

What needs doing that equates to almost £400??
New lever and indicator is less than £100 even brand new, new crash bungs maybe? £70.
